Ms Laura Catena's 'Luca' Chardonnay, a big hit in my #SouthAmericanWine cls tonite. Pecan pie crust, coconut cream pie meringue & grilled pineapple/summer mango. A bold Chardonnay that would pair beautifully to a traditional #ValentinesDay meal of poached lobster tail & drippy butter.

Dinner at 6Smith, the re-opened boat-up space in Wayzata (fka North Coast). A different approach to chardonnay - more like Rombauer in its intense creaminess. Oakey and creamy at the same time. Hard to do well, but this Argentinian pulls it off. However, this is a not a taste that pairs well with the food a 6Smith. Competes with the American spices to become a little bitter. Not the wine’s fault though.
