Good nose. Needs aeration. Some length to the flavor profile. Berry and some vanilla. Dusty. — 6 years ago

MEV is a small estate located on a 2000-foot peak in the Santa Cruz Mountains and founded in 1942 by Martin Ray. Aromas of sweet stone fruits and honey spice. On the palate peach, sweet ripe apple and orange citrus with some nutty spice. Great balance with acidity sitting on a lingering finish ending with mineral tones. This 2013 is still young and a few more years will bring out the beauty of the wine. I'm putting a few bottles down. — 8 years ago

Another sleeper white hit from #wsjwineclub. True to the label art, this #garnachablanca is perfumed with jasmine and gardenia. Green apple and citrus acidity present on the palate with a delightful almost spicy zing on the finish - this one disappears fast out of the glass. I’d like to try it with some slightly spicy food next time. — 6 years ago
Intense and profound Burgundy-like Pinot Noir nose with beautifully pure red fruits and a subtle hint of spices and a mineral touch. Like a hypothetical blend of high quality Burgundy (Echézeaux) and German Baden Pinot Noir (Martin Wassmer Castellberg comes to mind). Profound, very elegant with silky tannin and long aftertaste. A beauty indeed. 2013 vintage. Not cheap at 99 euro but unfortunately that is the price of Pinot Noir at this level. 2013 vintage. — 8 years ago
Wow loved this. Complex w soft tannins. $37 a bottle out, on their website for $28 — 9 years ago
Full fruit on this Pinot with a smooth easy taste. There is a subtle nuttiness on the back end . Really nice! In St. Martin 7/25/16 — 9 years ago
100% Grenache from Madrid. Huge on the organics. Smoke, Earth and rubber on the nose. Earthy and minerals on the pallet. Jammy Fruit notes are prevalent on the mid-pallet. Complex and bold. Best with food. Quite a unique expression of an Old World wine. — 6 years ago
The 2014 ‘Villa de Corullon’ by Bodega Palacios is a superb showing from this storied Bierzo estate. Sourced 50-100 year old Mencia vines from the municipality of Corullon, just south of San Martin, this incredible new wine shows really good aromatic range, from white pepper and vegetal tones to black tea, black currant purée and exotic spices that all are marvelously woven together in the glass. Beautifully textured, the wine shows off a soft and inviting mouthfeel. Chinese black tea, wild blackberry preserves and suggestions of pipe tobacco and leather all come together on the palate. Hugely enjoyable in its youth, this outstanding wine will cellar well for the next fifteen years. Drink 2019-2035- 93 — 6 years ago
Dryish finish, definitely good friendly. Enjoyable! — 8 years ago
Wow, brand new bottling and a stunning one at that. Santa Cruz Mountains, bald mountain vineyard that is known for minerality and complexity, and this does not disappoint. The nose is rich with a werther's original-like caramel note as well as some peach skin.. lovely aromatics all around. The palate is firm and rich, but retains some zingy acidity, loads of cream, and a lingering mineral-driven finish.. impressive bottle - a standout for $25. — 9 years ago

One of my favorite cabs of the year. Higher acidity, lower ABV, and finer tannins for a very drinkable, elegant cab that isn’t overly ripe and juicy. — 4 years ago
