Nice little wine, probably the leanest white burgs I’ve had from 15. Acacia, white grapefruit, lemon, lemon pith, wet stones, flint and a hint of nuttiness. Pretty lean and tight on the palate. Finish pulls up a bit short and a touch bitter. Revisit in a year or two — 8 years ago
From mag. Very vigorous nose on flint, lime and puckering acid and zip. Lovely palate, pure puligny. Delicious — 9 years ago

Such a tease, showing only momentary signs of an incredible aroma as the night progressed. Flowers, peach, quince, and toasty lemons come of mind. Even after a good 2 hour decant, the wine was still so tightly knitted. Not much fruit and full on flint as the name suggest. Searing acidity, lovely texture. Not fully convinced, but it sure does have great potential. — 9 years ago
A lovely greengage, lime, slate and honeysuckle nose. On the palate very clear, chalky, flint. A lovely savory palate. Incredibly there... Really beautifully balanced. Great stuff. — 10 years ago

Loads of matchstick & flint a style that I love, great fruit, needs a few years but would highly recommend — 10 years ago
Laser beam to my Chardonnay pleasure center. Such focused orchard fruit, flint and sappiness , with a hint of salinity. Reductive (surprise!) upon opening, much more giving with a couple hours in the decanter. Every time I question the QPR of white Burgundy, Roulot reels me back in. Thanks, @Evan Vallee. I need a winning lotto ticket or something... — 10 years ago

Slate, flint, pine, lemon zest. 2012 Louis Michel MdT showing well on this hot summer night. — 12 years ago
$210, yes. Thankfully no signs of pre-mox. Slightly honeyed, reductive / gun flint nose that faded with air to smoke. Lime zest, peach, orange blossom, integrated smoke on palate. Great minerality and acidity, impressively long finish. Likely reaching peak soon. — 8 years ago
N: honeysuckle, hay, white pepper, stamen, Flint,
P: orange rind, candied ginger, lime juice, butterscotch, graphite, lavender, avocado, violet petal finish that is insanely long — 9 years ago

As the Victorians would have said, a real stunner. In a great place right now, initial blast of elderflower upon uncorking. Further oxidation brings out the classic flinty notes and lush creaminess of premium Sancerre. Slightly faded golden brocade. Flint, citrus, blossoms on the nose. Vibrant acidity. Just gorgeous work. — 9 years ago

Found another 2009, 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Ovello Cru, a premiere site. Ruby with red Berry fruit, floral and flint aromas. On the palate, cherry, raspberry and ripe strawberry flavors with a touch of earthy floral tastes. Tannins are muted, balanced with acidity, well structured. Drinking great now, should last a few more years but why wait on this beauty? — 10 years ago
Extremely layered but delicate nose lets you know you are in for a treat. There's no kick of gooseberry or cat pee, funk or wool. Instead, a great balance between the signature gun smoke, flint and lit match, layered with extra clean lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Palate is rich and round, full of citrus fruit and a stream of acidity. — 10 years ago
Flint and wet rocks all up in there. Full chard and with nice acid — 11 years ago
2001. Can I get an amen??!! Beautiful bottle. Expressions of flint and matchstick that evolves into epic meursault. Only flaw is that there aren't that many bottles of this left! — 11 years ago
Flint & Steel adds a crisp flinty backbone to classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. A lovely nose of honeysuckle, peach and grapefruit rind is followed by flavors of mango, kiwi, lemongrass & freshly squeezed grapefruit. The wine is medium bodied with a smooth and refreshing finish. — 12 years ago
Ente never disappoints! Laser-like precision with some flint and lemon-y notes, followed by honey and butter. Not overdone and leaves you wanting for more. — 8 years ago
One of my favourite wines. Crisp white. Not too acidic. Enjoy it again and again — 8 years ago
Really nice lime flint wet stone herbs, grass — 9 years ago
One of my favorite whites of recent. Many parts that all settle in together. Rocky minerality, pronounced acidity, slight funk, flint, damp basement. — 10 years ago
Great wine. Flint, lemon zest and green apple. — 10 years ago
exceptional balance -- citrus, flint, subtle oak. couldn't ask for more from a chablis. — 10 years ago

Mature cool climate Chardonnay. Penfolds Whites are starting to gain the reputation of their illustrious Red offering. After 6 years funk is replacing the Flint of a few years ago. Nice stone fruit notes and long. Enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Lemon, citrus, wet stone, oyster shell, gun flint, and saline notes. Love the tension in the ripeness of the vintage against the bracing acidity. Raveneau delivers again! — 11 years ago
Dense and round. Flint and gun smoke. Lemon. Apple. Cream and toast — 12 years ago
Conrad Green

This is a beautiful bottle. Mint, flint, a whiff of sulfur, jasmine. On the palate this is extraordinary. Fresh and vibrant with secondary notes of sweetness and tangy preserved lemon. Hugely complex but very integrated ad complete, and long. Fantastic — 8 years ago
