This was an amazingly enjoyable wine for being so young. Somewhat pale red in color, the palate was full of red fruit, spices, slate, tar, and volcanic ash. My first exposure to this varietal was pleasant indeed. — 2 months ago
At nine years old, this may have been a touch past its prime, but it still drank pretty well. Dark fruit and tobacco were dominant on the nose and palate, with hints of earth, cinnamon, and pepper coming through as well. Would like to try a younger bottling sometime soon for comparison. 100% Mayolet. 5/5/25. — 17 days ago
Certified organic. Bright but not too citrusy; a hint of salinity — 2 months ago
This wine has a medium ruby color to it. The nose is full of black fruit and savory aromas. Plum, blackberry, and currant bring sweetness, which is balanced by notes of earth, tar, and pepper. The palate shows clean, fresh fruit and a brisk acidity with firm tannins. It's a great chance to add the Gaglioppo grape to your century club list. — 5 months ago

First time having this bottling and it was quite enjoyable. A pleasant surprise.
Wines from Sicily have come up in quality and are deserving of more world attention.
