2019 vintage. Less body (light-medium vs medium/medium heavy) than the 2018 effort. Absolutely phenomenal nose. Wowza. Starts off decently demonstrative, then dovetails into Subtletown. Catching this on the relatively youthful side so anticipating variability/changes but drinking beautifully now for the price. You could easily throw this into a Bordeaux tasting and get away with it. Full disclosure...massive Mount Eden honk but a Domaine Eden (2nd label) sceptic. Laying on the horn here as I did with the 2018. Beep beep n beep beep, beep beep n beep beep, yeah. 5.5.24. — a month ago
Smell: smells pretty acidic, strong tones of lemon and such.
Taste: tastes super good, perfect balance of sweet and acidic — 2 months ago
The anticipation and patience displayed holding this for 10 years was amply rewarded. Clear, brick-ish color, tight nose that eventually opened to loads of red fruit, Burgundy like in its combination of lushness and reserve. Subtle and layered even after all these years. — 2 months ago
Packs a lot of value for the price! First time trying the ABC Chard and I was impressed. — 3 months ago
Really love this one. Slight carbonation. — 3 months ago
Diferent Pinot Noir with a lot of fruit and good acidity — 2 months ago
Privileged to sample the 2016 Monte Bello at the winery as part of their Library offerings. The bottle is $375 at the winery. Tight and tannic after 8 years (and half an hour of decanting) but promising much more. Josh at the winery concedes that it’s in a dumb phase but should reach its peak in 20-30 years. I could analyze and pick apart this one for hours. — 4 months ago
Fruity yet not too sweet — 2 months ago
My favored of the tasting 2nd place of all the votes absolutely delicious Chardonnay great value just too much butter for me but still shows layers of flavor — 2 months ago
On first open, the butter/malo notes are overpowering everything. Some fruit and acidity in there but hidden. Will see how it evolves with some air. — 3 months ago
Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with floral and wood spice notes, aged for 11 months in oak. On the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry with tobacco, oak, tea, cola and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an oaky earthy character. Nice! — 3 months ago
