Sophisticated nose of bacon fat, pipe smoke, ground espresso, hazelnut, blueberry, and bramble berry pie. Leather, tar, and tobacco too. Layered and perfectly ripe.Palate hits with pronounced blue and black fruits accented by pepper and clove. Vanilla bean and organic earth flavors too. Tannins are moderate and playfully bounce off a food minded acidity. This is drinking wonderfully now, so much that it’s hard to justify aging. Great finish depth and length. Drink or hold. Annual guys WTF Christmas party with spouses. Lots of great wine. I’ll post my highlights with pics I got.

Absolutely delicious and in the zone! So much depth and complexity on the nose and palate. Smoked brisket and bacon fat, small hint of olive tapenade, baked mixed berry pie, and sandalwood jump from the glass. Didn’t want to put it down! Richly textured on the palate with sweet smoke, espresso, dark cocoa, blueberries, blackberries, and savory peppercorn. So much going on here. Thanks

One of my favorite wines, one of the most reliable. Huge QPR and one you should always have on hand. A little pricey for an everyday house wine, but it’s always worth it. Recently tasted 9.8.21, 7.28.21 and 6.1.21. Like the old Van Morrison album...a period of transition. Mid-palate a tad dumbed-down but the nose is clearer and airy with spearmint and tobacco. Some new cinnamon/clove infiltrating the bouquet and palate now. Still a little richness/baby fat/smoke lurking about but said intensities increasing less every time tasted. Really need to lock and key this until 2030. Good luck. — 4 years ago

With the 00' drinking so well right now, the 10' paled in comparison. On the richer side, but still a killer wine. The concentration is remarkable and fruit still very dominant. I reckon it still needs heaps of time to shed all that baby fat. Day 2 brought out all the classic oyster shell, sea breeze, flinty notes. Really good, but not the best showing of Raveneau.
