Wonderful Syrah from maestro Barruol! Earth, licorice, mushrooms, black fruit, graphite, developed tannins. Bravo!

2013 vintage. Very structure-dominated with lots of gritty, stem-influenced texture. Spruce resin, lingonberry, pomegranate, blackberry, blueberry, tarragon, lavender, cedar, rocks, dried leaves, black tea. Lots going on here, and all evidence points to a long life ahead.

Now we're too young. Needs tome to flesh out. Tannic but also fruity and earthy at the same time. Needs some age to come into balance but will be great in time.

Oh hey youngin' had a salami cured meat angle out the gate with dark purple flowers and tight black fruit that faded into a nice bouquet and a iron back bone, tight still on day two developed some black plums the tannins are still gripping, hold off for at least 5yrs

Maybe it's in my head but the purity and aromatic intensity of Serine always blows my mind. Classic N. Rhône Syrah with the volume turned up. Bacon fat, violet, black/blueberry confiture, cured meat, licorice whip, roasted plum, cigar ash. I love the mid-palate breadth of this wine and how well it showed after a proper decant. Wildly rustic while being poised and elegant, a great reminder of why I love N. Rhône wines

Tried to have a 2013 at a home wine tasting but it had passed its prime. Lisa said that 2013 isn’t a great year for wine and the grape wasn’t robust enough to age that long. We couldn’t drink it but we both recognized the bird label and that we’ve liked it in the past. High cost though at $70 and 13%

Really good with strong foods, by itself has a funky nose and an interesting flavor.

Smooth and balanced red, soft tannins. Red summer berries yet dry and medium bodied elegant red. More please!
