Yes. Beautiful rich wine for a red blend. Full and bold, yet soft to the taste. World Market. — 6 years ago
I’m from British Columbia the home of so many great beers not to mention our own. But San Diego California also has some of the greatest craft beers on the planet. Stone Brewing is among the best in a tough market. It’s hard to beat their IPA and visiting their brewery is on my bucket list. Bill @Bill Bender of San Diego this one’s for you. Stone Brewing well done and congratulations. — 7 years ago

Excellent. Had at Fish Market. Repeat — 9 years ago
Truly noteworthy wine drinking wonderfully now and will only get better with some time. Living in Bordeaux and all over Europe allowed namesake and winemaker Keith Webster a personal look at the world's best wines. Settling in Napa he's now crafting ultra-luxury micro productions of wines he was inspired by, like this one called Right Bank. At 13.9% alcohol it resembles a right bank in more than name. Delicious, "farmer's market fresh" dark red fruits, shimmering garnet/ruby color with soft notes of spice, vanilla, cinnamon and lavender. Pure, clean and fresh mouth feel, good acid, tight, neutral tannins. 100cs production, best of luck finding. Delicious! — 9 years ago
Hints of blackberry and pepper, full bodied. Nice nose, good finish. We're going back for a case... Dekalb Farmer's Market - another $9 winner!

An interesting wine. Sold as "extreme extended maceration" with skin contact for 9 months. The result is fairly impressive in the mouth. The nose is a bit odd and unidimensional - cedarwood. The tannins are nicely integrated and fairly soft. Went quite well with food. Almost imagine they are going after the prisoner market here. For $15, very good value. Very good QPR — 10 years ago
Funky, dry, tart, fizzy. Those weird apple varieties you only get at a New England farmers market. Mmmm. — 4 years ago

One of my favorite accessible, all purpose Cali Chardonnays on the market right now. Summer night jasmine and faint vanilla, honeysuckle and lemon curd aromas. The subtlest hint of Chablis-like salinity. Light to medium body. Some white peach nectarine creeping in on the finish. Creamy - but more like 2% milk than butter. What it lacks in flavor complexity and finesse it makes up for with zest, precision and balance. Paired with weeknight-whatever’s-left-in-the-fridge carbonara. — 6 years ago
2006. I love Paolo Bea wines and had this one several years ago. It has aged well. Now brick red, the dark cherry flavors are still vibrant but the tannins are smooth and the acidity perfect for bruschetta and farmer's market tomatoes. Bottle 0786/14,100 — 8 years ago
Really enjoy this. Definitely a fruit driven expression of Mataro (Mourvèdre). Tannins are present, but don't intrude here and characteristic cracked pepper emerges on the mid palate. The nose is where this one really shines. Fresh, fragrant blackberries which recall a farmer's market stall with the day's fresh picks. Great stuff. — 9 years ago

Michael Cruse found a sweet spot in a crowded market. This wine will reward those wanting something they can't find anywhere else. If it was $5-10 cheaper I'd buy this as my house wine. Still, a fun wine that brings bright cherry, with some tartness and herbal notes followed by a minerality that gives it some crunch. Strong finish that pairs well with roast chicken, grilled brats, or a salad lyonnaise. Much better at cellar temp than after an hour at room temp otherwise I would score higher. — 9 years ago
Yummy, got in Culver City at a co op market — 4 years ago
Label says Mendocino California, not North Coast. Classic rusty-ruby Zin color. Aroma is burnt grass meets cherry cobbler. Flavors are juicy, jammy and pretty classic for coastal Zin. Slightly toasty and smoky too. Finish has the tannins and lingering cherry fruit that sings so well in good Zin. This 8 year old bottle of North Coast Zin is holding up quite well. It’s a great deal for $6 at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. — 5 years ago
Charles strikes again.
I said weeks ago, I’d rather drink Charles Hendricks Pinot in futures @ $75 vs. the 09 Marcassin we had two weeks back @ $150+ winery or $225+ on the secondary market. This 14, while still young, proves that point and will only continue to get better.
It’s about as luxurious as Ca Pinot gets. Just supple, soft & elegant as body gets. Candied, floral fruits of ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, blue fruits, lean purple fruits, dry cranberries, strawberries, plums, delicate but darks spices, cinnamon stick, vanillin, nutmeg & touch clove, salted caramel, mocha powder, limestone & grey volcanics, dry crushed rocks hints of peppered grilled meats, fresh & dry tobacco, dry stems/twigs, sage dominated dry Provence herbs, splash of mint/eucalyptus, tree sap with bright candied, fresh & slightly withering florals of; dark, red, purple, blue set in a field of violets & some lavender. The acidity is perfect. The long finish is; extremely well balanced & polished, elegant, fresh, just the right amount of candied with a long, dark spice finish in the long set.
The 14 really started to excel after an hour plus in the decanter.
Photos of; the outside of the Hope & Grace tasting room in downtown Yountville where you will find Charles Hendricks wines. He makes Hope & Grace wines as well. One of my favorite paintings that used to sit behind their tasting bar but, is now in Charles house. It is very Pollock like! Wow! Wine of the night. Such beautiful red fruit, enveloping in a farmer's market jam kinda way, with great finesse and a lithe body. Could stand up to steak but was simply gorgeous on its own. Brought back from Corsica by JH. Impossible to purchase here... — 10 years ago

Nice deep purple color, vibrant dark berry/cherry aromas with a hint of shrubby, funky, forest…brilliant hit of vibrant acidity, with medium weight or gravitas on the attack. Really balanced example of California Syrah w/o running the risk of high ABV or “jammy” viscosity. Fine on it’s own, but perfect foil with Paulina Market seasoned steak burgers, Mac and cheese, and late harvest MI sweet corn. Drinks like Fall —-and football. — 4 years ago
