Dark, silky and beyond good. Shows lots of beautiful mineral lift as if it was right bank bordeaux over limestone. Clean and utterly delicious

Day 2. This is a beauty. Really opens up showing lush red fruit yet still keeping it cool at 14%. Impressive now and will gain complexity with age.

Needs an hour to open but provides an explosion of dark fruit and spice with balance.

Really enjoy this. Definitely a fruit driven expression of Mataro (Mourvèdre). Tannins are present, but don't intrude here and characteristic cracked pepper emerges on the mid palate. The nose is where this one really shines. Fresh, fragrant blackberries which recall a farmer's market stall with the day's fresh picks. Great stuff.

This remains a delicious wine. Good juicy core of dark fruit over good structure and earthy notes. Good acidity too.

This is totally delicious. Dark ripe fruit over an earthy core. Light on its feet and refreshing from good acidity.

First tasted this at DBGB Kitchen on the Bowery in Manhattan. To wax poetic for a second, I was smitten. This is a lovely, elegant wine. Great concentration with a complex flavor profile. Bright, accessible, heck, I'd say vivacious. Super QPR. So happy I have one more. Wow.

Opened two bottles of the 2015 back to back. So good. By far my favorite Sandlands wine to date. I was starting to develop the view that they excelled on the whites and the reds were sort of basic, but this one really impressed me. It was a little sharp straight out of the bottle but was especially excellent on day two. Good structure, layered berry notes, appreciable tannins. Yay!

Ripe nose of black berries, cherries, and plum with a hint of leather and smoke. More weight than I expected with vibrant, rounded tannins. Complex with not a hint of jamminess or oiliness. Worked well with comfort roasted chicken and Mac and cheese. Surprisingly dry but juicy...I suspect another few years of life, though pleasant now!
