Purple in color with a reddish rim.
Strong nose of black fruits with wood, licorice and chocolate notes.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, chocolates, black pepper, herbs, spices, black tea and light vegetables.
Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 10 year old Malbec is still drinking very nicely, but will not last long, so better drink up. Nicely balanced and complex. Spicy and entertaining.
I've had many different vintages of this wine and it is much better with some age.
Good right out of the bottle and easy drinking.
Good by itself or with food.
13% alcohol by volume.

Boardwalk Bellvue bar.
8/22 staycation.
Plum, raspberries, juicy and fruitful but not overpowering sweet. Dryer than Coopers. Better than coopers. The nose is very strong and elegant. Goes down smooth. Has an "evaporation" effect on the end. — 9 months ago
whoa! wild, totally unexpected nose. never smelled a chard like this. Menthol, eucalyptus, mint. Andes mint. high elevation, select rows from a single vineyard. Unlike any other chardonnay. Flipping beautiful. High acid, lemony citrus and mineral on palate. the mint is fascinating- almost overwhelming. decanting would prolly help. 10 just because it’s so interesting, so delicious. but it is not identifiable as Chardonnay. — a year ago
Lacked something… thanks Tom Tom — 5 years ago
Deep purple in color with a reddish rim.
Nose of blueberries, black currants, cooked plums, light oak, dark chocolates, peppercorn, herbs, bell peppers, earth, tobacco leaf and black tea.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, currants, light oak, vegetables, chocolates, tobacco, bell pepper, herbs and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a young Cabernet Franc from Mendoza. Rich and extracted with lots of earth and vegetable notes.
Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature, but already drinking nicely. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Complex and interesting enough to drink by itself. A good food wine too, that will pair nicely with lamb dishes.
100% Cabernet Franc grapes were aged for 18 months in (50% new) French Oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

A beautiful, tannic expression of Malbec. We had it with lamb chops and enjoyed it immensely. — 7 months ago
v21. Very good! Sharp, smokey, cedar nose. Round, rich blackberry and cassis fruit. Long, firm, soft, slightly astringent, herbal and black pepper finish. Enjoyable! — 8 months ago
Herbaceous, hint of mint and lemon, paired beautifully with a basil infused white fish. — 10 months ago
I joined this white wine blind tasting session for a taste of the illustrious Chard duo from Catena Zapeta, despite knowing full well that white wine condition in my area has a pretty lacklustre record; and I’m pretty glad I did. The White Stones, thankfully, was [mostly] singing. Yes, there was a touch of honey and musk in the back end, but I felt it didn’t distract from the general message. Perhaps the reticent winemaking style here helped give it a little more resilience against the arduous travel. On the nose, there was nearly no fruit at the start - just sulphurous, flinty aromas. It does eventually yield to heavy swirling in the glass, revealing some pear and nutty notes. The palate was textural, sharp, and mineral. In fact the name could not be more apt. It was like licking stones, all covered in salt, lime juice and chopped sage. I really enjoyed it, but the wine that could have been still lingered on the back of my mind. One to revisit for sure. — 2 years ago
