The first nose is very mineral : crushed rocks only. Then after a while hay comes, then lemon, then after a while pineapple and mango. The nose literally blossoms in the glass. Magnificent ! The palate is pretty straight forward at first with a solid acid backbone and some width with lemon but it gets bigger and wider after a while and the exotic fruits make an appearance in mid palate that turns this bad boy into a beauty. The finish is precise, pretty long, with both lemon and exotic fruits taking turns to show off. It was served along an entrée dish consisting of fresh goat cheese and herbs, candied apricot and pear, beef jamon (cecina) and olive oil. Perfect pairing! — 7 years ago
Top!!! — 8 years ago
Entrée course wine for the Paul Lato wine dinner at Amaya. Not sure if this was decanted or opened early. Pretty tight on first taste as expected, but let it sit for for about 15 minutes while enjoying the Suerte. Surprised how quickly it opened, showing dark fruit, pepper and savory elements. Terrific with the Osso Bucco. — 9 years ago

Peachy and quite silky. Great wine for an entrée on Christmas! — 10 years ago

The 2014 Greenstone is the Maryland Governor's Cup winner for white blends. Named after the meta basaltic greenstone prevalent in hilly central Maryland, this is a non-traditional blend of Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc. High floral notes accompany mandarin orange peel, Meyer lemon zest, winter melon, and minerals. Refreshing acidity and a slight creaminess will help this pair with many salads and entrée. This wine is as interesting to drink as it is to smell and is a true winner. — 10 years ago
— 5 years ago
This is Gov case winner and I can see why: terroir-driven Chard fruit (slight tropical accent w/ a delicates floral frame) core palate. Sort of like Bluegrass is different than country. It was clean and my only regret was opening about one year too late it was clean and my only regret was letting some of that energy dissipate. At four years from harvest, the oak had rounded and it was certainly delightful. A useful minerality was gentle in the cleansing finish. My mystic was pairing with the wrong entrée which took some of the appreciation out of the quality build. I will look to get a 2017 offering as it should be all this and a little something more ;) — 7 years ago

Rich, fruit tones, dry finish, chocolate undertones. Would be great with a peppery entrée or chocolate. — 9 years ago
Excellent. Enjoyable with double chocolate cake and strawberries, but could have worked with the entrée as well.
Would buy this wine again. — 10 years ago

Nice entry level cuvée for this Moulin-à-vét of which Château is one of the sure values of the appellation. Crunchy and fruity, yet with discreet aging notes that suggest mastery and savoir-faire. Simple but classy.
— 5 years ago
