Eagles Trace

Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Fruit forward in this full body wine with a nice hint of leather to it. Not bad. — a month ago

Franci Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2007

Elegant & mature. Slight bricking. Trace tannins on opening but blew off within a few hours and only mild on day 2. Nose is ripe plum and balsamic. Palate is soft and elegant with mouthwatering layers and layers of dark fruit, cherry, leather, undergrowth, red clay. Long soft satisfying finish. To be savored. — 9 months ago

Unfiltered Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2013

Deep inky purple and not a trace of brick. Heavy tar and jam (not off-putting) on the nose and not surprisingly a bit of alcohol. Delicious balance of jaminess and ripe black fruit. Enjoy in next couple years though to taste the fruit. Drinking with berebere chicken and rice. — 4 years ago

Ah it's the back label on the bottle. The front is embossed white lettering 😊 @Norman Gennaro

Clonakilla

Canberra District Shiraz Viognier 2014

An absolutely alluring nose with cloves, spice, dried meat and a trace of pepper. Barely medium weight on the palate. Barb loved it for that. Very different to Barossa or McLaren Vale Shiraz. Without a doubt the best Shiraz Viognier blend in Australia although Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 (with a few other Rhone varieties in the blend) would give it a run for its money. Really very good with a few years to go but pretty much at its peak. — 10 months ago

Bonneau du Martray

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2008

held my breath as I opened the bottle and was relieved when the wine poured out light in color, not a trace of the premox that pervades this wine, though it was a bit more honeyed than usual but still had superb flavors and depth. Citrus and some apples, white flowers, not real steely like CC often is, the bottle was emptied rather quickly. — 5 years ago
