Hoped this would be more balanced and giving, but the rustic NSG nature sneaks through. — 4 years ago
The 2020 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is clean and precise on the nose: an enticing mélange of red and black fruit, briar and a touch of aniseed. The palate is sapid on the entry, with wonderful vivacious red cherries and strawberry fruit laced with white pepper and allspice. Real depth and mineralité flood through on the (again) aniseed-tinged finish, completing an impressive wine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)

A good Chardonnay type wine. Was really good with Seafoodm — 2 years ago
Decanted separately two bottles for Christmas lunch
Took time to open and second showed benefit of longer time to open with notes of wood with earth, cassis, black cherry and a hint of earthy floor. Showed excellent performance and flavours that also possessed benefit of cellaring and results in tremendous length and finish.
Top notch and likely will develop further — 5 months ago
Still one of my favorite producers. Mature, nuanced and drinking well. Earthy red fruit, spice and delicious. — 7 months ago
2020 vintage, Decanted and tasted after 10 mins and 45 mins. Medium body. Big concentration afoot paired with the (usually) lighter MM style. Verdict...guilty of requiring a mandatory 12-15 years in the cellar. Too powerful now to settle into domesticated drinking life. If you absolutely must here and now, give it a thorough 2-3 hour spa day/decanter sesh first. 8.23.24. — 9 months ago
