The village experience of Fourrier (and Rousseau) give you tremendous value for money compared to where their Grand Crus are priced. This was no exception. Popped and poured, powerful nose, elegant Burgundian flavors and while lacking in complexity very nice in every dimension. A crowd pleaser! Wish I had bought more! — 3 years ago
Great bottle of pinot noir. — 4 years ago
From magnum. Had it next to the stylistically similar Fourrier Gevrey VV, but this was the better wine for me - it had a little more depth and texture. Started of similarly reductive, but quickly opened up to scents of roses, intense red cherry, and smoky insence. The palate's velvety, mix of red and dark fruits, rich but offers lots of freshness with its crisp acidity. Minerality plays second fiddle at the moment, but is evident in the long spicy finish. I bet this was how it looked like when it was first bottled, so time can only make it better. 1er level for sure!
NB: From WH - This plot is located on the southern side of Griotte-Chambertin alongside the Claude Dugat plot and below the Duroché plot of Griottes-Chambertin. It is quite strange that this vineyard has been classified as village as it’s located so close to the Grand Crus. — 6 years ago
Delectable: This is the new entry level Cuvée from Bass Phillip called “Since 1979 Pinot” not offered in your choices. This is the first vintage with Burgundian winemaker, Jacques Fourrier in charge. The first thing I noticed was how fresh and bursting with red fruits this was. Like raspberry, strawberry and cranberry leaping from the glass. No detectable oak influence - all about the fruit. Very approachable immediately - soft silky and delicious. While the other 3 Pinot Cuvées have increased in price this entry level has reduced to under $50 allowing more wine lovers to be introduced to the best producer of Pinot Noir in Australia IMO. Probably clever marketing. I had another bottle 143 weeks later on 23/4/25. Sweet and savoury red fruits. Very well made and red fruit driven in a more drink now style. Drinking well at 5 years of age. — 3 years ago
Alive with fruit and crushed rocks. Tingling minerality. Crystalline. Reminds me a little of Fourrier — 7 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is Jean-Marie Fourrier Vosne Romanee Aux Reas Vielle Vigne, which I couldn't find in the database.
Pop and pour. In an excellent place. On the nose: cola, glossy red fruit, pomegranate liqueur, mulberry leaf. On the palate: lovely acidity, savory herbs and blackberry/cherry compote, Still some grainy tannin on the finish. Still somewhat primary, but drinking very well. — 2 years ago

See previous notes from a few months ago in early July. This was Bass Phillip’s entry level Cuvée but under new owner, Jacques Fourrier it will be retired and the new entry level Pinot will be Bin 17K going forward. This had lovely fresh red fruited aromatics of cherry and strawberry — 4 years ago
Metallic, sweet spices, dried cranberry and strawberries, sweet and cool. Has plenty depth and sappiness for the plot and vintage. Very Duroche/Fourrier like. — 6 years ago
Some people say this is supposedly Rousseau lite. I think it's more Fourrier like, but without the nutmeg spice. — 6 years ago
Young, but drinking so well with beautiful, pure, dark red cherry fruit. Nice tartness with that Morey earth in the background. No one in Burgundy captures such pure and delicious fruit flavors like Fourrier does. Can't wait to try the next bottle 5 years down the road. — 7 years ago

Another winner. Dark red fruit. Farm funk. Paired with tuna — 9 months ago
