Kinda like a beaune village wine. Floral with medium body. A bit lean as an 14 — 4 years ago
Now the high end Jurgen wines. Sick nose. Incredible. The next cult German Pinot. It’s so obvious. Nose of intense black cherries, mid season best of bunch red cherries, some cooling blueberry that echoes Cecile Tremblay. Loads of spice and earth. But so so so refined. Delicate yet intense nose. Superb. Beguiling. Huge minerality. Smells like red rocks. You sniff for 10 minutes before you sip as it is so good and keeps changing. After 10 minutes there is massive complex aromas. Palate has insane inner mouth perfume and massive elegance. Incredible palate. Mega juicy and so complex. So pure and clean. Lithe and elegant but intensely flavored with bursting mid season red and black cherries. Incredible energy and sweetness of fruit and man it is so so elegant. Pure as the driven snow. This is mega elite. The intensity combined with delicacy is incredible. Masterful balance and top of the line purity. Delicate and powder tannins with perfect ethereal ripeness. 9.5 for now. But I see this going higher. Insanely long finish. — 5 years ago

Very enjoyable- mainly stone, with subtle buttery and vegetal notes — 7 years ago
Nice, humble, pear notes and apricot, some zest. Not flashy but no errors either. — 3 years ago
Great price. Very light and dry. — 4 years ago
Elegant and expressive with a beautiful bouquet. It shows lovely purity and finesse. Black raspberries, red flowers, a touch of reduction, exotic spices and roasted herbs. It shows no “green” of the vintage and the subtle herbal quality is seamlessly integrated and only adds to complexity. It’s not at all thin, and it has great intensity, yet simultaneously it’s weightless and it just floats on the palate. Finishes long with vibrance and lift. Beautiful wines from Madame Tremblay. — 5 years ago
Red cherry and berries, elegant floral notes, standard vosne spices. This is a stellar burgundy that hits all the right notes and does so with delicacy and elegance. — 6 years ago
Lots of berries in the mouth. Perfumey after opening for an hour — 6 years ago
This is a gorgeous wine...silky, though very young tannins — 7 years ago
IMO, MG makes one of the absolute best Clos Vougeot’s. This one drank very youthful and primary but all the material is there for this to be a fantastic bottle down the road. It showed much more producer and vineyard than it did the vintage. There was none of the overt greenness that you can often get with 2011’s. Along with Rousseau, Dujac and Tremblay, MG’s 2011’s are very impressive.
After an initial shyness it does reveal itself after a multi hour decant and begins to waft from the glass with aromas of dark fruit, florals and spices. On the palate it’s deep, elegant and pure with fine grained tannins, excellent focus and delineation. But you can tell it wishes to resume its slumber. It often went back and forth from showing great fruit expression to then aromas of woodsmoke and savory herbs. But the herbal qualities are not at all off putting and just add to complexity. I would love to check in on this again with more bottle age. It is clear that it will have a lot to offer those with more patience than me. — 4 years ago
A rare bird from Cécile Tremblay - only one barrel made using 100% whole bunch and without sulphur; bottled exclusively in magnums. Opens with a floral and dark-fruited perfume that's quite captivating, followed by a concentrated and juicy palate. The wine offers excellent purity for me, which could be construed as being one-dimensional. I believe its rather closed at the moment, but L calls it "unemotional" which I think is simply too harsh. Finishes long and chewy. I could complain about the lack of minerally tones, but at midnight, this was an excellent night cap. — 5 years ago

Wow. Waterfall of light red fruit into sublime acidity. Bouquet and mouthfeel both startlingly good. Longer than the drive from Avize. Cathiard probably the only comparable I have experienced. A privilege. — 3 years ago
