Gorgeous chenin, totally clean, stony and pure — 4 months ago
Floral, honeysuckle, stone fruit, hits of tropical fruit, touch of oxidation. Long finish, med acid — 5 months ago
One encounter with an ex-château bottle suggested that the 1966 Lynch-Bages is not to be overlooked. Deep in color, it has a tempting nose that unfolds gradually in the glass, graphite and cedar commingling with crushed stone and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm entry, very cedary with touches of desiccated orange peel. It's a bit conservative on the finish, though that is a leitmotif of the 1966 vintage. Well-preserved bottles should still be giving pleasure. Tasted at the Lynch Bages vertical. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2023) — 2 years ago

Lovely Grenache nose
Palate: sweet fruit. Well made. — 3 months ago
Bright red fruit, some herbal notes. — 5 months ago
Pretty volatile soon after pouring. Calmed down with some time in the glass. But still unlikely to please everyone. The carbonic maceration is evident. With all of this, I ended up finding it to be an interedting and enjoyable expression of terroir. — 9 months ago

One of my bottles from my annual WWC hosting. Part of a Grenache flight (including ‘19 Rotie Cellars “Big G”, ‘19 Saint-Damien Souteyrades Gigondas, ‘18 Andremily Grenache).
80% Grenache/ 20% Mourvèdre
I’m a fan of this Gigondas producer and think the wines exhibit an excellent value. After the first two Grenache wines, we take a dark (profile) turn here. Classical garrigue, dark potpurri, and spiced blackberries aromatically, with some leather and tobacco as well. Dark black fruits dominate the palate surrounded by bitter dark chocolate, black pepper, hint of charcoal and mineral. Concentrated but not sweet. In a delicious window now but benefitted from the air it got…no rush. — 4 months ago
Decanted and aerated. Not much bouquet but some spicy berries. Delicate mild dark berry middle and then finishes with that long old world earthiness. Dry dry finish. Perfect with apple topped pork. — 10 months ago
