Light and smooth. Perfect. — 6 years ago
1996 vintage. An old-fashioned Margaux made by 85 year old Jean-Pierre Boyer (who has no succession by the way). No wood here, only concrete vats Very intriguing wine, evolved colour with orange rim. Nose opens up beautifully with air, reminiscent of crushed strawberries, cedar wood and flowers. Delicate and full of finesse, very much alive. Drinking beautifully now, but given how well it reacts to air exposure this wine can evolve for many years to come. Highly recommended if you want to taste a totally different Bordeaux. Jammy with some subtle sweetness. Fairly tannic but opens up nicely. A little acidic is my only dislike ---_-------- (a lot better once it warmed up). Lots of nice oak and dark fruit — 8 years ago
Young but drinkable! — 8 years ago
Very tight and reduced upon opening. Needs air time but a very pretty wine. Triage no. 1. — 4 years ago
Good fruit, little spice, some tannins. Just really well balanced. A little cinnamon and plum — 6 years ago
