Was going to get the 2016 given I generally love that vintage across much of Europe but the somm talked me into the 2015 saying it was more open. He was right - this was delicious, and still traditional and “old school” with a restrained 13.5%. Tons of pepper and dark dark fruit with some olive. Very delicious with nice medium acid and a long finish. — 4 years ago
Oaky. Floral. Honeysuckle. — 6 years ago
Original price tag, this Crozes-Hermitage is really remarkable (I believe La Guiraude is a special cuvée?), meaty, smoky, classic aged French Syrah, long finish, amazingly this was the most ready to drink of these wines I’ve been posting tonight, and the favorite of at least one of our 6 tasters tonight!! With all that said, if anyone has bottles of this wine, it’s fully mature. — 4 months ago

Fruit and earth and heme and amazing tannins and just a hint of Brett. Quite lovely though. Could certainly have aged longer but I didn’t feel like waiting. — 4 months ago
Noticeable oak on the nose. Tangy deep fruit, very clear with some salinity and violet. Lovely vosne spice, and with air black cherry and rose comes through. Lovely texture and character and Intense and long. Ina few years this will probably be better Very good — 7 months ago
Palate is so juicy and like icing on a cake. Gorgeous purity and depth and so clean. Wow. Nose of mineral and beeswax, butter and some grilled nuts. Wonderful rich texture and just the right amount of chewy. Dense and packed but so sleek and refined. The purity is stunning. Aromas of wet earth now and sweet oak. What energy and brilliance on the palate. — 9 months ago
Nose is so mineral. Lemony and buttery. But it’s overwhelmingly mineral and scene in the forest. Palate is racy and ripe but has terrific acidity, freshness and cut. Long finish. Juicy and so pure. Really awesome stuff. Wow as this opens the e berg is palpable and the complexity is off the charts. So good. Nice richness on the palate now with a few hours of air. — 2 years ago
The last bottle of my 2012 Vosne Romanée from Alain Hudelot Noëllat and its a wonderful show that it manage to put up. Like a grand dame in its golden years bit with a hell of a spirit its displaying evolving characters of dried strawberries, rose petals, blood orange and menthol that is backed up by a prominent choir of nutmeg, clove, truffles, wet stones and forrest floor. Fresh palate with very present but smooth tannins, an expansive palate as the encore slowly fades out in a very respectful and balanced finish.
Day 2 tasting and its pumped up, more nuanced, defined and dresses up to its teeth in elegance. The last bottle of six will leave its mark for sure. Divine! — 5 years ago

Back at Le Cap where we discovered our wine of the year 2024 (Biondi Santi). This year going with a sommelier recommended Vosne Romanee (our go to red burgundy). Initial impression was “wow it’s another wine of the year contender” with notes of white truffle, strawberry ice cream and strawberry jam. Softer and more delicate than other Vosne’s we’ve tasted but after 3 hours of being open the taste dropped off at the end, so only a 9.7. — 4 months ago
