Full bodied brash and rough like a bierzo with complex notes and a smooth finish. Powerful yet very drinkable — 7 years ago
Un peu astringent. À boire en mangeant. — 8 years ago
Medium Ruby in colour. Savoury Earthy Plummy aromas with a touch of barnyard. Earthy plum notes on the palate of medium plus intensity to begin with but faded somewhat after around 40 minutes. Have always loved the Mencia grape from Bierzo and this is proof it can cellar 19 years although it faded a bit - 95 points at the beginning; 92 points at the end. — 4 years ago
Very tasty - just the right amount of earth - great with farmers market BBQ ribs — 8 years ago
2020 vintage from Northwest Spain’s Galacia region, with moderate tannin before resting, think Merlot. Balanced. Tart cherry, blackberry, some sort of stone on the end. Really nice. Pleasant mouth filling tartness on the finish and dryness, but after the bottle is open a for a bit it’s less dry. — 2 months ago

Gran Bierzo, fruita roja madura, acidesa correcta, entrada correcta i gust llarg. Un punt eixut al final, amb la fusta molt ben posada. — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of 97% Mencía and 3% white grapes, deep Ruby red color with aromas of ripe black fruits, pepper spice and oak. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and plum with cinnamon, cacao, cacao and smoky notes. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel, ending with vanilla and earthy chaulky mineral tones, a fine Sipping Wine! Organic! — a month ago
