I believe this was the second year Chateau Louviere used the Stelvin enclosure on their wines and this may have contributed positively to the experience with this bottle, considering it’s age and rather questionable provenance. The wine pours a sort of burnished gold color, slightly hazy. On the nose, the wine is a little funky with peach, orange, tangerine, lemon, yellow flowers, and wet ashy forest floor. On the palate, desiccated stone fruits and citrus fruits with some vanilla and a nutty marzipan-like thing. Medium+ acid, medium alcohol. Finish is medium+ finish, slightly bitter and slightly sherried but overall really quite satisfying and universally enjoyed. — 4 years ago

Drinking well right out of the gate. Modern styled and generous, with a focus on dark plummy fruit, sweet oak, and a mocha finish. Well made and an excellent value, although the wood is slightly tedious for my taste — 7 years ago

I always forget just how much I enjoy white Bordeaux and this is delicious — 11 years ago
— 10 months ago

Dominus 94 won out this night. A little muted on the palate but smells right — 6 years ago
Always nice. Mellow and flavorful. — 10 years ago
Deep honeyed with complex nutty flavor. Balanced with plenty of life left. The complexity ratio is SB and Semillion is in full flower. One of Woltners best even at 37 years of age. — 10 years ago
First Bordeaux I've ever enjoyed. Not super bold. Light. — 11 years ago
Lovely white Bordeaux. The Semillon dominated at the beginning, finishing with lemon from the Sauvignon Blanc. Straightforward and nowhere as complex as the Malartic-Lagraviere, but a delicious bottle of wine. The nose had a great citrus and flower aroma. — 3 years ago
Second label (Domaine de Chevalier) Graves Red Blend. (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petite Verdot). Deep purple color. Dark berry aromas and flavors. Hints of cedar, licorice, minerals and baking spices. Round and silky. Long finish. Well structured. Great value. — 5 years ago
Archetypal Bordeaux - old world in style, but where the savory characteristics are well-integrated with common Bordeaux fruit notes. Well-structured and precise, with notes of blackberry, cassis, tobacco, cedar, and vanilla with a long, somewhat chalky finish. — 6 years ago
It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a youngster from Pessac Léognan in Bordeaux.
A beautiful color of dark ruby with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Pronounced nose of blueberries, black currants, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, leather, earth, forest floor, dark chocolates, light bell pepper, barnyard, bitter vegetables, river rocks and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, blueberries, wood, light vanilla, earth, pencil lead, wet leaves, forest floor, smoke, green vegetables, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with medium minus tannins and tangy raspberries.
This left bank Bordeaux is already drinking very nicely now, although still young. Showing nice balance and elegance with nice texture. The nose is really special, and I kept on smelling on it for a long time.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly. Still very earthy with lots of vegetable notes. The tangy ending makes it interesting.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
Good now and will be better in the next 15 years.
A good price/ value for a not so good vintage, as it is less than half the price of the 2010 vintage.

Opening with an interesting and unique orange zest character, then moving to tilled soil. Overall a fresh and mildly spiced nose. On the palate it shows the character but it’s quite harsh to undesired at the moment. — 8 months ago
