Really pretty blend. Musty and mineral-y. Not too fruity, subtle tannins. Very nice. — 4 years ago

Côtes de Francs Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Despite the vintage this was a pleasant surprise.
Very ripe fruit and nice lingering (slightly drying) tannins.
Drink now - 2020.

Château les Charmes-Godard

Le Semillon Côtes De Francs White Bordeaux Blend 2014

I'll admit, I'm always happy to have a Nicolas Thienpont wine in my glass. The Thienpont family are associated with other great Bordeaux properties including Puygueraud, Pavie Macquin and one of my personal favorites, Vieux Château Certan. The 2014 Les Charmes Godard is slightly austere, with pronounced herbaceousness. Smoky minerality swirls around boxwood, cherimoya and gooseberry notes. It's lean and racy on the palate, lightly hemmed in by oak. Here lime zest, white grapefruit, and white pepper take the center stage. — 8 years ago

Les Poyeux Saumur Champigny Cabernet Franc 2006

One of the great Cab Francs that kept building in the glass & just entering its drinking window showing cherry, earth, dried herbs, savory spices & silky tannins — 6 years ago

La Jota Vineyard Co.

Howell Mountain Cabernet Franc 2012

This is one of the better cab francs I've had (though I need to try Detert on @Carl Fischer's recommendation). La Jota is becoming a favorite of mine...shouldn't be surprised as I'm a die-hard Howell Mountain fan. No traces of green pepper at all with this...got a nose of very slight toasted oak and blackberries. Long legs and a gorgeous purple ring/black core. Plum and cinnamon on the tongue. I'll take some more please. 👌 — 9 years ago

North Coast Cabernet Franc 2015

Lighter mouthfeel but pretty acidic. Tastes darker than east coast cab francs for sure, and that green pepper flavor is less prominent. Would go well with red sauce pizza - very good value overall! — 5 years ago

So Brutal!!! Carignan Mourvedre 2014

Es D'Aqui Brutal, very pretty, mousy but enough bright fruit and electric acid to make it enjoyable. Not for everyone and my least fav of Brutals I've tried but still thought provoking and easily drinkable. — 8 years ago
