Dark purple garnet in the glass. Raspberry and leather on the opulent nose. Medium plus acidity surrounds the palate of raspberry, leather, and cassis. The aggressive tannins of youth have been time-tamed down to an approachable medium (we’re twenty-two years on, after all). Drink up! It’s delicious! Merci, Mssr. Brumont. — 8 years ago
Awesome. Muscly. Plush. Black and blue fruits. Flowers. Oak. — 8 years ago

My prior experience with Tannat was limited to a bottle of Bodega Garzon, and I was not really a fan. This bottle gives me new perspective about the variety.
A blend of Tannat/CS/CF (60/20/20), it opens with ripe black fruits tinged with peppery spices, dark cocoa, cherry cola, and just hint of barnyard. Velvety palate with surprisingly polished tannins.
My first Madiran. Chateau Bouscassé is the home estate of Alain Brumont who also owns the more famous Chateau Montus. — 2 years ago
Find this to be delightful. Great fruit nose, good mix of red and black fruit. The taste is complex, very fruit forward but with lots of herbs, flowers, and caramel notes. Good acidity, and overall well-balanced. Good linger on the finish. — 8 years ago
Rejält mineraligt och kryddigt. Fylligt och moget men ändå fin syra och en liten bäska som är riktigt trevlig! — 8 years ago

[80% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon] Leather, forest floor, maybe a little Brett, excellent structure and depth, despite its age, seems like it can easily age another 10-15 years, long, lingering finish, excellent Madiran! — 5 months ago
