Magnum! Leather, tart cherry, blackberry, cedar. Chalky tannins with bright acidity. What a treat! — 8 months ago
A stunner. Opened with that rustic cab smell. Not sure what lies beneath that initial nose. And then just pure explosive goodness in the glass. Black fruit, swirling with brown fruit in every sip. Lingering finish made for a wonderful moment or two. — 6 years ago
Tasted 6 bottles back to back with zero bottle variance. Savory, singed cedar, hoisin, and intensely aromatic. Plenty of time left. — 8 years ago
Super smooth and mellow, great mouthfeel and a nice finish. Juicy. — 9 years ago
Really enjoy this one. Lots going on. — 11 years ago
Lovely cab, smooth taste and velvet texture. Boysenberry, dark cherry, tobacco leather tones with nice finish — 7 months ago
From a 5 Bordeaux grape blend: 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 2.3% Petit Verdot & 0.3% Malbec, aged 24 months French oak, 85% new, Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, cedar and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and currants with notes of herbs, pepper spice and earthy notes. Fine sweet tannins, long finish ending with cacao, smoky oak, fruit and mineral tang. Very nice, aging well, but time will reward! — 8 months ago
Solid and definitely needed the aerator but aging well. Will be excellent in a few years. Deep and earthy. Lots of dark fruit. — 4 years ago
Always exceptional. I really admire the 2009 but I would prefer some of the vanillin/coconut American oak character to be a bit more woven into the overall picture. Pure red fruit aromas, exotic cedar and spice, sweet tobacco and a hint of balsamic herb. The freshness and silky tannins are delightful, just wait a few years for the aromatics to come together and resolve some of the younger parts. It’s going to be special. — 7 years ago
Medium ruby with a hint of bricking, this wine has a phenomenal herbal nose of mint and leather and underbrush. In the mouth the wine is everything you want from Musar. Stunning fruit, cedar, a bit of barnyard and dried flowers. Incredibly complete and delicious. There's a phenomenal salinity to the wine with a faint powdery tannin. — 10 years ago

1.5 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable purplish magenta color. On the nose: very aeromatic notes of black & red berries, truffles, loamy soil, worn leather, tobacco leaf, floral, herbaceous. Taste: soft, elegant, balanced, layered mouthfeel wine with blackberry, dark plum, leather, crushed granite, dried herbs, and a spiced cedar long finish with some dusty tannins. YUM! At the start of its drinking window with 20-30 years to go, so no rush. — 8 months ago

Flight 2 , wine 1 . Quite deep garnet , less terracotta rim . This had a whiff of oxidation about it at first which seemed to somewhat dissipate with time . Some dark spiced fruits , liquorice and menthol hints , cedar and sous bois . On the palate good ripeness and spiced dark cherry hints . Good acidity and rounded tannin . Nice length also , offering some spiced black fruits and menthol hints . Don’t think this is a pristine bottle but was enjoyable none the less , I was unsure at first if this was Napa , but coming back to it … and reading my notes , it became quite obvious . However I had this down as the Ch Montelena , not the Dominus — 8 months ago

Lovely secondary elements of sweaty saddle leather, cedar and later some cigar box. Soft, integrated tannins. Long finish and very nice nose. — 9 years ago
I was drawn to the description including caramel and creme brûlée. Delicious! Not too sweet nor too dry. The price makes it even better. Apparently it's hard to come by so I'm buying up all I can tomorrow!!

An exceptional, full-bodied wine. Tasted a lot of black cherry, currants, cedar, and creme de cassis. Drinking great now, but should last a long time in the cellar. — 6 months ago
