Martin found this for sale (can you believe it?) in, of all places, Beaver Liquors in Beaver Creek, CO. This baby is pure velvet. You could print a velvet Elvis canvas out of this stuff! Strong, bold attack, midpalatte, and finish. Classic Central California gold! I've been waiting for over 10 years for my allocation, and it's worth 10 more to get SQN juice on a regular basis. — 8 years ago
Well used for Sangria. I know. . . Curse me now. — 9 years ago
Great Merlot! — 9 years ago
My favorite Merlot ever — 10 years ago
Some smoky flint and poultry jumping out of the glass, the initial off-gas as this bloomed beautifully. The bottle only lasted about 45 minutes out on our table and in that time it settled nicely into a canvas of concentrated minerals white flowers perfect ripeness the right acidity. Lean and muscular, no fat, no human hands present here. Highly recommended. Iroulewhat?! Who would've known? Thanks kermit. Fried food for the win. — 10 years ago
Bubbles from Belgium! Light hint of green apples in this sparkling Chardonnay. Good apertif or a companion for something powerful - be it cheese, or might I suggest an awesome Belgium Chocolate. Perhaps even a sweet Liége-style waffle. The bottle says blanc de blancs - it's a good canvas in which to paint a good pairing vice being alone. — 11 years ago
I seldom drink rosé, unless it’s champagne of course, but the appelaing recipe and heritage of Clos Cibonne caught my intention.
The Cuvée Prestige Caroline is a very pleasing rosé indeed, the elevage in oak adds a comforting and balance complexity, taking those fresh red fruit character and adding a well portioned chunk of vanilla whipped cream to the canvas, a broad texture is gracefully being led by a fresh spine, creating a balanced interplay throughout the finish. — 6 years ago
2012 red blend of Merlot, Cab and Cab Franc. Delicious & mature for only 6 years old. I love how they use an “open canvas” to create something spectacular. — 7 years ago
This white is 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon, 30% Chardonnay, 7% Viognier and a splash of Muscat Canelli, all grown in their Livermore Valley estate vineyard. The nose features a complex mix of honeysuckle, Meyer lemon and sweet peach. A stirring acidity frames citrus, minerals and nectarines in a food-friendly canvas that’s ready for spring and summer salads. — 8 years ago
Hyatt's house cab. Loved it. — 8 years ago
Very nice surprisingly fragrant fruity and smooth — 9 years ago
Haven't tried but Aubrey likes! — 9 years ago
Not usually a fan of chardonnay, but this was left at my house after a party, and I'm sure glad! This is a soft, smooth wine that's very buttery and luscious without that oakiness that usually makes me cringe. — 9 years ago
Dark fruit, earthy, open canvas for food pairing, delicate tannins, smooth acidity. Great with your meat and cheese! — 9 years ago
Showing signs of oxidization, but underneath fig and bruised-apple aromas, the nose has a rich and secondary nose of dark black raspberries, cedar, tobacco, dried cherries, and a tinge of cumin. In the mouth, it resembles a printed canvas of dark fruit, leather, cedar, tobacco, and savory tamari notes. There’s a nice texture to the midpalate flavors. It is gorgeously balanced, medium bodied, with lively acidity, still some tannic grip - though refined, and a satisfying length.
This is a wine of substance, at an extremely interesting and delicious point in its life, available for an absolutely ridiculous price. Thanks @Alder Yarrow for the recommendation! (The winemaker is Cathy Corison). — 10 years ago
Best served chilled. Similar to V. Sattui Gamay Rouge — 11 years ago
2nd chance at Nama. — 12 years ago
This was very exciting to try, first time with this. Deeply hued, alluring aromatics, NW nose and OW palate. Very Cornas-esque. Nose is ripe blk and blue fruit, ripe peach, licorice whip, talcum, pipe smoke, chalk, violets and roasted herbs. Palate is dialed, just ripe red berry and blk fruit, WC spice/savory notes of tobacco, herbs de Provence, blck pepper, minerals. Tannins almost sandy/canvas-like, adding dimension and texture. Can’t wait to see where this goes. — 6 years ago
Very good Pinot. Exactly what I would want from a Pinot noir. Would definitely buy again. — 7 years ago
Fantastic with spinach pasta and broccoli rabe. Simple, smooth, a perfect canvas for rustic food. — 8 years ago
By the end of night one the cerebral roller coaster ride left me bewildered. Despite being guilty of infanticide, the wine was not necessarily closed for business. Rather, it was like tasting four or five different wines over a few hours. A darker than usual kirsch provides a canvas for the swirling plethora of flowers, herbs, meat, and earth, with a distinctly saline minerality (which might be the only constant here). By night two it reached its destination of charmingly pleasurable and no longer required as much thought, thankfully. — 8 years ago
Buttery light for a Chardonnay but perfect for a happy hour in the summer!!! — 9 years ago
A favorite from last summer, could never find it in Nashville. Still delicious and cheap. — 9 years ago
I'm picky on pinots. I don't like acidic ones. More medium bodied, slightly fruity, overall dry. This was perfect. Since I bought it at Ralph's, for the cost, it's very good. Good red wine to have on warm day — 9 years ago
St Emilion soul & substance, in spades, this is your ticket to ride. From the sublime #Bordeaux 2010 vintage, a cellar selection alert. Chateau Teyssier over delivers at the unassuming price of $29. Again, worth restating, you cannot get this quality from California in that same price range. A brilliant canvas of taunt tannins, painted w/ blackberries, dry earth, and ripe dark plums, and slightly dry taste of the skin. Recommend an hour decant, it evolves gorgeously. Acid to fruit ratio is spot on. The finish is long and lasting. Purchased 6 more just today. #stemilion #bordeaux #wine #winetasting — 10 years ago
If you'd a taste of true Saint Emilion style and class, this is your ticket to ride. From one of the more recent great #Bordeaux vintages, this bottle of Chateau Franc Mayne over delivers at the unassuming price of $45, you simply cannot get this quality from California in that same price range, a brilliant canvas of taunt tannins, painted w/ blackberries, dry earth, and ripe dark plums, and slightly dry taste of the skin. Decant an hour B4, it evolves w/ air. The finish is long and lasting. Purchased wine. — 10 years ago
Seesaw battle between floral and herbal on top of a subtle melon fruit canvas. Outstanding! — 11 years ago

This was outstanding. Excellent value. Contender for best sb I’ve tastes along with Jolivet and Blank Canvas. So well balanced. Flinty, mineral character perfectly balanced with peach and kiwi fruit. Zippy zesty lemon giving spine. With Racquel in HK — 6 years ago
