Limpid orange-pink. Lively, mineral-tinged red berry and orange zest scents, along with a building floral quality and a touch of succulent herbs. Dry, tight and lively in style, tangy redcurrant and tangerine flavors deepen slowly through the back half. Finishes on a repeating mineral note, with sharp definition and strong persistence. Inky, bright-rimmed ruby. Mineral-accented cherry, cassis and peony qualities on the highly perfumed nose, along with a building mineral nuance. Appealingly sweet and focused on the palate, offering juicy dark berry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that slowly deepen through the midpalate. Shows real energy and spicy lift on the persistent finish, which is given shape by smooth, even tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2020)

Bright, full ruby-red. Highly complex, thoroughly ripe scents of black raspberry, cassis, dark plum, tar, tobacco, mocha and minerals, lifted by a violet topnote. Wonderfully suave and fine-grained but still quite youthful, spreading out to coat the palate without leaving any undue impression of weight. Shows a distinct black cherry medicinal reserve. This very smooth wine finishes with a broad dusting of ripe tannins and steadily building length. Approachable now owing to its successfully integrated acidity and tannins, but I'd rather give this beauty a bit more time in the cellar. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, July 2019) — 7 years ago
FFV first constructed as the Larkmead Winery in 1884, the building was refinished with native sandstone from the nearby hills in 1906 and still stands tall today. Blended with 11% Petite Sirah, aromas of rich dark fruits with herb spice notes. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with some vanilla oak and pepper spice. Firm tannins, medium finish, good mouthfeel ending with spicy fruit character. Nice! — 7 years ago

Referred to as the “Baby Grange,” blend of 57/43 Cab Sauv & Shiraz, aged for 12 months in American oak, partly in previous-vintage Grange casks. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet and complex spice. On the palate juicy black cherry and blackberry flavors with notes of cacao and toasty spices. Well balanced with acidity, full ripe tannins, long ending with smoky spice, fruit well integrated with oak, drink over next 10 years+, will only get better. Tasted twice! Nice! — 4 years ago

This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up ( 30 minutes).
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already delicious. I would love to revisit this in 5 years.
A great sipping wine to have all by itself. Tasty, tangy and delicious. powerful, yet elegant.
A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Cabernet Franc and 4% Syrah. Fermented in (50%) New French Oak barrels. A small production of only 45 cases.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Delicious — a spiritual and pious journey through Amalfi’s lemon groves, the butter-producing farms of Parma, and Sicilian pasticcerie. This wine doesn’t disappoint as an accompaniment to “Wine Enthusiast’s” Italy issue, and as a distraction from the bad back that is wrecking any hope of skiing after the best snowstorm of the season. I will just have to content myself with the recent videos of Roman nuns building snowmen among ancient ruins. — 8 years ago
