Jammy with some subtle sweetness. Fairly tannic but opens up nicely. A little acidic is my only dislike ---_-------- (a lot better once it warmed up). Lots of nice oak and dark fruit — 7 years ago

Medium body and a lovely tension with a pleasing 30 second finish. NB this cuvee is mislabelled- it’s not premier cru, although part of the ‘field’ qualifies. It’s only village. Only... — 8 years ago
nose is a little quiet. starts like baked apple shifting to lean, crisp granny smith. medium + acid. bio-d, native yeast, unfined/unfiltered. said to all come from villages level Meursault. killer value. minimal sulfur added at bottling. — 4 years ago

1996 vintage. An old-fashioned Margaux made by 85 year old Jean-Pierre Boyer (who has no succession by the way). No wood here, only concrete vats Very intriguing wine, evolved colour with orange rim. Nose opens up beautifully with air, reminiscent of crushed strawberries, cedar wood and flowers. Delicate and full of finesse, very much alive. Drinking beautifully now, but given how well it reacts to air exposure this wine can evolve for many years to come. Highly recommended if you want to taste a totally different Bordeaux.
