Very light red that drank well chilled, with ripe red fruit and a lingering finish. Def would buy again especially for a good glou or paired with salmon. — 5 months ago
Dark ruby red. Aromatic strawberry, plum rich, violet. Juicy. Bouchard Pare & Fils Gevrey Chambertin 19 @14000, Txin, 241127 — 7 months ago
Note, in 2019 hail cut yields by 40%, Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with leather, licorice and smoky herb notes. Fine tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and earthy mineral tones. Nice! — 2 years ago

#AgedWineTuesday
Dark golden in color with a brownish hue.
Light nose and very dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing lemons, apples, spices, light over ripen citrus fruits, earth, light wood, herbs, light vegetables and white pepper.
Short finish with limes and bitter herbs.
This 28 year old is a little past its prime, but still drinkable and interesting.
I had higher expectations, but at this age, it really depends on the individual bottle. That said, I still enjoyed it.
Needed 30 minutes to open up properly.
Good by itself as a sipping wine.
100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Cedric Bouchard makes some of the most singular, vinous and terroir expressive wines in Champagne which is even taken to the next level in his prized and ultra rare cuvée, La Bolorée. 2015 was a particularly great vintage for Bouchard and every cuvée I’ve tried has been fantastic. La Bolorée, 100% Pinot Blanc from 50+ year-old vines on limestone soils, is powerful, detailed and multidimensional showing layer upon layer of rich orchard fruit, white flowers and salty minerals. Just my 4th time having this bottling, but it is always a special drinking experience. We did not decant, but drank from Zalto Burgundy which somehow didn’t break on a boat 😅

Mature
Small tight bubbles
Dusty yellow fruit with almonds and some hints of cellar age on the nose
The taste is light fruit flavors of bruised apple and pear, lemon cream, and brioche. Not clearly BdN as I didn’t pick up any red fruits
This comes in an elegant, soft package with a bit of creamy texture. Age has softened this. Some would love the elegance but others might find it past it’s prime. I preferred this with more intensity and focus but this is very pleasant to drink.
I found a couple of bottles hiding in my cellar. Ideally I would have checked in more frequently to follow it’s development. Many think grower champagnes are most odeal in the 3-8 year window of bottle age. When do you prefer them generally?
