I've been told Spanish wines are a bargain and it's true! Lots of spice from my three favorite grapes - 45% Cab Sauv, 45% Monastrell, and 10% Syrah for the 2018. If I were to name it, I'd call it a Back-End Blend. At $15 a bottle I'll definitely buy it again. — 5 years ago
Rund og god smak. Frukt. Ingen vond ettersmak. Kan godt drikkes uten mat til. Kjøp igjen! — 5 years ago
The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Estate covers an area of 190 hectares, 54 which are vineyards, 4 are olive groves, 87 which are wooded and 45 are planted with new vines. Deep Ruby with a berry fruit aromas blossom and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate cherry & strawberry flavors, with leather, cacao and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine approachable tannins, long ending with spicy oak finish. — 6 years ago
45 min decant. Medium bodied, with earthy nose initially, picked up cherry, cedar notes with time in glass. Soft mellowed tannins & smooth finish. Thanks Pops! 👍 — 7 years ago
Great balance once it opened up. Inky with a ruby rim in the glass.
After loosening up, the fruity with high alcohol, structure and layered flavors mingled in and rolled over each other beautifully. . Leaning toward glycerol of dark fruit, spices and earthiness. Brighter in the nose w/ raspberry and strawberry syrup. On the pallet more boysenberry and blackberry pie and slickness but nice oaky structure, so never too sweet. Big , dense, w/bold flavors are surprisingly balanced.
Lots of alcohol up front, but opens up and settles in beautifully with just 30 minutes decanted. Would be great over the next decade.
An excellent value at $45-$50, could’ve been $80. — 8 years ago
This is the first palomino I've had that wasn't barrel aged and fortified into sherry and it was a brilliant pairing with a popping umami dish of shrimp head tartare.
I'm definitely going to look for it back home

Another trip around the sun, another “66 Bordeaux. This time it was the Cos d’Estournel. Clearly the best of the “66 vintage I have tasted over the last several years on my birthday. It started with salami and spice on the nose. Mid palate it morphed into this lovely soft earthy red fruit and finished with leather and spice. No hint of the typical Cos pencil lead. This wine still had depth and character. I was surprised by the richness and depth of color. It started to fade after about 45 minutes but wow, were those minutes an amazing wine experience. — 5 years ago

Oooo baby. Floral and seductive on the nose. Perfumed; jasmine, lime blossom, lavender, poached pear, candied citrus, nectarine, grapes, sweet herbs, cream, a kiss of honey. Palate starts out with juicy fruit character, then suddenly moves to pith, wet stones, olive, and a savory element that I find in so many Friuli-blends with Ribolla. While grippy and enticing there’s a richness on the mouthfeel that makes this wines feel so classy, very soft approach with the oak here. 45 Malvasia Blanca, Ribolla Gialla 30, 25 Friulano. — 8 years ago
Light with an oiky texture. Floral aromatics and palate with hints of fruit and a honeyed tones. Delicate yet palate coating. — 2 years ago
Smooth and lightly effervescent after 45 min of opening. Enjoyable, very smooth — 4 years ago
45+ decant but needed closer to 2 hours. Dark purple in color. Nose was all over the place - US, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy. Wine had minimal fruit, plenty of wood, and lots of Portuguese elements. Would have guessed California or Portugal if having blind. Depth was medium as well as the finish. Ample tannins. Expected more from the label and vintage. — 5 years ago

Blend of different types of Palomino (Palomino Fino, Palomino Jerez and Palomino Pelusón) from a single vineyard within the Pago de Carrascal, in Sanlúcar (not to be confused with the eponymous Carrascal in Jerez, further inland). Located to the south of Miraflores, this is one of the most Atlantic influenced Pagos in Sanlucar, and also one of the first to be replanted after phylloxera – with vines over 100+ years old. Elegant, mineral, saline — 2 years ago
