Aged ten months in half French oak. Aromas are lovely and perfumed, blue and blackberry with Paso earth. The palate offers dark fruit with an earthy overlay, fabulous acidity and very firm tannins. It paired perfectly with lamb in a blueberry cab reduction with roasted veggies. — 7 years ago
Better than expected - coconut, blackberry, not too acidic, good tannins — 7 years ago
My wife and I love it — 8 years ago
Ruby violet color. Blackberry, cassis, plum, cedar, and hints of green pepper on the nose. Although there is ripe, supple New World fruit on the palate, it drinks a bit like an Old World Bordeaux. Made from Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. — 9 years ago
Good. Super meaty. You have to drink this with a meal. Something with red meat. The blackberry is almost overpowering, but I love it. — 10 years ago
Great wine, very smooth. Ripe blackberry and currant. — 11 years ago
Had several bottles over last 9 mos, aging well! Deep ruby color and aromas of dark fruit, berries, mint and cedar, with a slight earthy scent. The wine is a blend of 86% Cab Sauv, 9% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot & 1% Cabernet Franc and aged for 20 months in 30% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry & sweet plum with oak and cacao. This full bodied wine finished with notes of tobacco and earthy notes, oak, well balanced with solid tannin structure. Delightful! Great value. — 6 years ago
Merry Christmas! bramble, leather cigar, cassis, blackberry, coffee. — 7 years ago
Drinking nicely. Lots of dark fruit. Blackberry and black cherry. Perfect with the steak. — 8 years ago
An excellent wine. Smokey, Rich, powerful, blackberry, currants, and fig. Drinking beautifully now, but will last for years (just sorry I drank my last bottle). — 8 years ago
Wine of the night. This wine had EXCELLENT fruit, and showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS of decline. Great powerful blackberry. I was guessing 01 Stag's Leap or Rutherford. Turns out it was Caymus SS 01, but I was second guessing myself on the year because it was a very purple color into the decanter and showing well. The wine had great vanilla on the front, blackberry on the front, and a more youthful middle and finish with some herb. This wine has 10 years left in it no doubt. Whoever cut this one off at 2017 has no idea. This one literally showed no signs of decline whatsoever. Drink by date 2007 - 2030. — 9 years ago
Great vintage for this American classic. Aromas of brambly blackberry and wild cherry. Mid-palate is lively with noticeable streaks of mineral throughout. The bright, vivacious acidity really stands out and brings this wine to life. However, it is very young - suggest cellaring for 10 years. It will continue to improve. 2017 vintage on Dec 2, 2019 — 6 years ago
Interesting California blend of two underrated varietals. (Petite Syrah And Petite Verdot). Aromas of dark fruits. Blueberry, Blackberry, dark plums and baking spices on the pallet. Inky purple color. Soft tannins and easy to drink. Not a bad weekday option. — 7 years ago
Blackberry, tobacco on the nose. 2007 still earthy and powerful, bold. Peppery, currant jammy taste. Really quite nice for 11 years old. — 8 years ago
Lots of blackberry flavor; I don't taste the chocolate or coffee referred to on the label. Still, this is something you could curl up with along with your favorite stew (I'm thinking turkey chili with mole). — 9 years ago
Blackberry, Strawberry Jam and maple syrup. Really enjoyed it. — 9 years ago
This wine suited my tastes perfectly - a bold fruity nose, a medium sweetness up front, a smooth full body of cherry, blueberry, leather and blackberry to finish. Mild tannins. — 11 years ago
Asian spice, licorice, and blackberry and cherry notes with tobacco spice all add to this complex, very involved, yet gorgeously symmetrical Dominus. — 13 years ago

Dark purple with smells of blackberry jam, vanilla, oak, and earth. Pleasant fruit with good balance and structure. Acidity is well integrated into the pleasant finish. — 6 years ago
