Grabbed another bottle! Wine bears the vineyard named to honor the Red-shouldered Hawks and other birds of prey that play a vital role in sustainable farming practices. Bright yellow with aromas of tropical fruits and sweet floral scents. Aged for 14 months, 75% in new French oak and 25% in stainless. On the palate melon, pineapple and peach flavors and hints of citrus, subtle yet complex and well balanced. Lingering finish, savory, ending with mineral tones and toasty oak. Outstanding! — 9 years ago
Holy bees wax! Roasted almonds and macadamia. Beautiful acid. So lively for a wine with so much age. Just awesome. — 9 years ago
Jancis Robinson MW once said that mature Hunter Valley Semillon was Australia's gift to the World of Wine. This wine demonstrates that statement. Notes of wet straw Bees wax Lanolin Grassy nuances. Acid diminishing from the searing levels in its youth. "Less is More". Pale Gold in colour. Marvellous wine at 16 years still with a future. — 10 years ago
Honeycomb. This tastes like fresh honeycomb, from bees feasting on acacia pollen. Love the weight, love the texture, loved the purity of this wine. — 10 years ago
This was the stunner of the night for me. Perhaps just because I never drink white #BDX but holy. The silky texture filled the palate with the soft white linen, acacia flower, melon, juicy Bosc pear, bees wax and lemon curd. A hint of herbaceous was kept it fresh and interesting, and the taste of honeysuckle - Oh my. Curvy, yet elegant. Still can't stop thinking about this wine. Stunning. So lucky to have enjoyed this with family and friends at mY old stomping grounds, #DBK. — 10 years ago

Very good, sweet like Birds and Bees but a Mascoto — 13 years ago
I discovered this nice #cheninblanc #viognier blend a couple of years ago and this vintage continues the quality. Grassy notes blended with tropical fruit and some perfume floral stuff on the nose that must be from the Viognier. This one was well received on a Friday night get together at home. — 8 years ago
A little thin on the nose at first but refreshing. Fruity with overtones of apple. Taste is a bouquet of delicious flavours! Very crisp and inviting with a slight, welcomed tartness to finish. Very easy drinking and pairs exceptionally well with medium to old cheeses. — 9 years ago
Very light and easy on the palette. Sweet, breezy and easy. — 9 years ago
Roasted plums, game birds, Chinese five spice. Big-framed, built to last. Exceptional. — 10 years ago
Sell it for $48 a 6oz pour
This wine is produced from grapes grown in several estate-owned vineyards. The Rossj vineyard, planted in 1984, is named for Angelo Gaja's younger daughter Rossana (Rossj). Bass is Piedmontese for the Italian basso, meaning low, a name derived from the vineyard's position. Pheasants are featured on Rossj-Bass' label to commemorate the beautiful birds that inhabit the forests adjacent to GAJA's vineyards.

Considerable depth. Elegant body, definite character and good acidity; a fresh, lingering finish. — 11 years ago
A red for under $10!?!?! And it's amazing! I will purchase again. It's smooth, subtle and delicious. — 11 years ago
Great wine especially considering the value. Good buy year in and year out. — 12 years ago
Very good. Light and fruity. Enjoyed with chicken. — 14 years ago
This wine is the whole of nature blessed by Helios — a ray of sunshine magnified by a dewdrop, a honeycomb with the residual buzzing of laboring bees, the glow of a buttercup on a baby’s chin. Happy, bright, a spiritual salve. NH Wine Store, buy and save for a rainy day. High marks for mood enhancement. — 9 years ago

2007 Chateauneuf die Pape Beauvastel blanc this stunning wine started out with fresh apricot and fennel pollen. It evolved into honeysuckle, bees wax with a white pepper spice. We had it with home fried organic chicken and cream gravy finished with 25 year old sherry vinegar. The wine won. — 13 years ago

Drank after decanting for few hours. Lot of alcohol taste but good with the pork roast we had. This one has lost some of it's fruit. Still solid. — 8 years ago
