Love great Barolo — 12 years ago
Delicious. Bold and smooth. Strong earthy notes with a fried pepper and sweet notes of... something. The finish isn't long but it doesn't matter. — 7 years ago
Beautiful floral notes - red roses hits you at first. Dried tart cherry, red currant, wild strawberry, fennel, mushroom. Touch of sandalwood once it opens up. Really nice — 7 years ago

public service announcement, gushing review ahead > 2012 vintage, this is stupidly good for its humble appellation. Still vibrant when so many of its contemporaries are looking tired, this has such wonderful liveliness and zip, allied with some secondary complexity and satisfying length, I had to go " WOW". Just bloody delicious. And Bravo to the producer and also the importer @eurocentric Benchmark wine — 10 years ago
Jammy mouthful. Great with bolognese on gnocchi. — 11 years ago
2011 - What a lovely Passito coming from Etna region, where you can't find so easily such a sweet (well, moderately sweet) dessert wine made with Nerello Mascalese grapes. Gorgeous. #etnakalatour — 11 years ago
Violets and tobacco. Every day enjoyment — 12 years ago
Great wine found at a pizzeria in Taormina. Learning to stick with Etna wines in Sicily as you can’t go wrong! Starts off great and opens up to be awesome!! Would love to take some home. — 7 years ago

When I first moved to NY, I worked with a guy who was, well, maybe connected. Like Tony Soprano connected. And he went to I Trulli a LOT. And so I was inspired to try it and it. was. good. Back for only my 2nd time, the all-Italian wine list is certainly intimidating, but I know the Nebbiolo grape, as finicky as it may be, is one people respect, and nurture, and cultivate into something gorgeous. This Barolo is awesomely-paired with my arugula and fresh parm salad - star anise (maybe a theme here?!), cherry, blackberry to the nose. I respect a good Barolo in that this grape requires optimal conditions to flourish, and altho it's such a small part of the Piedmont output, it's often the most coveted. I Trulli love you. 😉 Now bring on the pasta! #bepicky #barolo — 10 years ago
