If Radikon is right, great orange wines come in 500 ml bottles. This gold-colored skin contact wine smells like sweet apples and tastes like it. Wild yeast. Some light, fading, carbonation. Tart and mild tannins. Reminds me a little of an unblended Belgian lambic. Utterly drinkable. — 4 years ago
In the glass it looks like a flat wheat beer—light orange and cloudy. Citrus boozy nose. The first sip and you know it’s special. Unique experience, but quite different from orange Radikon. This is more wine, less cocktail. Lots of tension, medium body and tons of acidity. Easy to pair but interesting enough to be had on its own. — 4 years ago
Hard to find this one; my brother in Oregon snagged a bottle. Dedicated to Stanko Radikon and his son Sasa, who pioneered the extended skin contact production of “orange wines”. This is a red wine made with 100% Pinot Gris (Pinot Grigio). Purple red, yet very good clarity; reminds me of the look of cranberry juice, but a tad darker in hue. Spice, leather and cherry-prune notes in nose. Fruit leather, prune flavors, initially, moderate fine-grained skin tannin astringency, a floral-prune aftertaste that is most like a traditional Pinot Gris white wine. Later, vegetal (black olive?) flavors emerge. Mind-blowingly different. Took me a while to decide how much I liked it. I never anticipated an orange wine could be pushed to this extreme, especially with this varietal - boom! After 90 minutes, tannins smooth out and you get a soft fruity light red with subtle flavors. Fresh, complex, well-made and conceived — 6 years ago

Balsamic tar and flower petals. Extremely tannic upon opening but evolved beautifully — 3 years ago
How could I resist a $22 bottle of “orange” wine being a devotee of Gravner, Radikon & Damijan... and this was a pretty good attempt. Same region near Slovenian border, this has that wild savage oxidative nose, nutty, dried orange rind, dehydrated peach & apricot. Mid weight on palate, maybe lacking some guts & polish - solid acidic structure & balance leading to drying finish. Contemplative wine - would def buy again! — 4 years ago
This is one of my favorite styles of wine. Skin contact aromatic specifically muscat and not too heavy on the tannins like radikon or Georgian wines. I still think it masks the terroir but I love it either way... maybe the basic white carbonic equivalent for amateur natty wine connoisseurs like myself. 🤷♂️ super cloudy and some va. Both good things in my book. Thanks again chambers — 4 years ago
グラスで提供したものの残りなので、オリも多く量も少なかったので、参考値だが、シャープな酸と、赤ワインのようなタンニン。ワイン単体ではちょっとキツい。食中酒としてこそ、美味しさが発揮できる感じ。

Loud, funky, unfiltered, exceptional orange from one of the masters. Reminded me of Radikon. Pricey, but worth a try. — 6 years ago
Classic example of wine tastes better when you are enjoying the view of the vineyard, the story being told by the winemaker. We purchased this wine in Italy and schlepped back home only to find the merlot to be mediocre a year later. This wine is supposed to the the pinnacle of Radikon empire (made by father of current winemaker Sasha). — 4 years ago
Deeply colored, fruity, very aromatic skin-contact orange wine made with Jakot/Tocai Friuliano from 60 years-old vineyards in Oslavia (Italy’s Collio region, right on the border with Slovenia) that Princic has been farming without pesticides since the 1980s. Alongside Oslavia neighbors Josko Gravner and Stanislao Radikon, Princic is recognized as one of the region’s natural and orange wine pioneers, known for the early adoption of bio-dynamic practices and use of extended skin macerations and lengthy aging – in this case, 22 days on skins and 2 years in botti. Rich, concentrated, with beautiful aromas of apricot, honey and peach gummy hearts. Some spice, herbal notes. Mineral, salty, great finish. — 4 years ago
