Beautiful. And what a perfect tribute to a life. — 8 years ago
Softer, rounded black fruits than in July. Blue fruits are starting to show a bit more. Cherry chocolate follows. Soft black earthiness with a touch of soft minerals. Light vanilla presence and medium barrel toast come out on the soft elegant finish. Good acidity is the one lacking element in their 08. It's off just a bit. 9.3-9.4 with the Ribcap steak...Michael Mina's-Bourbon Steak. — 8 years ago

2013- Wow! Full of huge fruit then comes to a nice finish with the oak, mushroom, alcohol. EXTREMELY well balanced.... Fantastic pinot. — 9 years ago
A well done wine with maybe a bit of little grip wild finish, a nice discovery, a pure and fresh wine - Karasì, is a tribute to the 6100 year wine tradition of Armenia and to its Areni Noir grape, which has created the authentic spirit of this wine. Its name is a reference to its long aging in traditional large, clay, amphorae (karasì being the Armenian translation “from amphora”). — 10 years ago

I am not the biggest fan of most Malbec's. The Mendoza's just aren't all that interesting. There generally quite simple and lack beauty & elegance! However, Chuck Hendrick's Malbec's impress. He makes the Hope & Grace and did until recently make the James Cole. You will be hard press to find another as elegant, smooth and fruit so ripe. One could sip this all night. Ripe black cherries, raspberries, cherries, touch of blue fruit, liquid violets, melted milk chocolate, the dark minerality is round & sweet, there's a faint presence of used wood shavings, touch of lite pepper on the tip of your tongue and a round mix of rich ripe fruit blend on the finish. Acidity is spot on! This will only continue to improve over the next 4-5 years +. — 8 years ago
As far as rosé goes, this is a good un. Almost no perfume to discuss, although we did detect metals and very soft strawberries. It's soft and round on the palette, which is our style of rosé. Finishes with red fruits and mild acidity. Should have drunk this last year. Oh well... — 8 years ago
Ah-mazing! A definite go to. — 9 years ago
After allowing this wine to breathe for a while, you will be amazed. Smooth, and especially flavourful for an Italian wine. — 9 years ago

Undeniably divine start to finish. This is a wow wine. Power and grace. Rich yet delicate. The stuff that dreams are made of — 7 years ago
Juicy. There's a sense of blackberry/black cherry gum. Black cherry cola, black licorice anise, olallieberry pie, dark moist earth, chocolate cake with fruit & fudge frosting, dark fine minerality, shades of a port like character, liquid violets, crushed rocks, dry pebbles and very large round juicy to dry dark fruit finish. Reminds me of a very dark berry Gamay. — 8 years ago
Very young. Wine is beginning to shut down. Opened a little after 45 minutes but still not giving much. Interestingly, smelled and tasted like a French left bank Bordeaux. Cellar for another 5 years before trying again. — 8 years ago
Celebrating the launch of a project I've been working on for 8 months - great way to do it! This is as amazing as I've always remembered, if not more so. #pinotlove — 9 years ago
Love the expression of both terrior and fruit coming from the Celilo Vineyard. Neatly situated at the lip of the Columbia River in the cool Columbia Gorge where Washington and Oregon meet. Striking acidity that is approaching exuberant but holds itself well with the dominant ripe tropical fruit. Crisp and velvety with some subtle "malo". Neutral oak which is more perceivable near room temp still shows a great deal of restraint. Definitely one of the more fascinating Chards I've had in a long time and I can't wait to see what depth age brings to this wine. @Matt Austin — 9 years ago

My favorite birth year wines are usually Burgundy or Bordeaux's since the hold up so well over time. Unfortunately, the 1965 growing season is known for Cold weather, Rain an Rot!!!! The 1965 vintage is Atrocious!! Michel Broadband called the 65 Bordeaux wine "Mean, Acidic and Short". Robert Parker was even tougher on the vintage!! Everyone that I spoke to and the research that I did pointed me to this Beauty!! 1965 Vega Sicilia Unico. I opened this last night for my wife's birthday. This bottle was in pristine condition with an original price tag of $4.80 on it!! Too funny!! I love finding beauties like this. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading so much in regards to the terrible growing year. This had a gorgeous earthy dried fruit which lightly caressed our palate. It wasn't the typical huge kid on the block with depth, character and conviction that we've enjoyed previously from other vintages. It was actually really cool to enjoy age, grace and playful Beauty. The finish.was relatively short but there it was still very good and somewhat robust. I just wish it lingered a little longer but oh well., it simply made us pick up the glass that much faster!! The wine was Very, very good. The family and friends that we enjoyed it with are awesome!!
The Love that I have for my wife on her birthday and every other day of the year is Priceless!!!
