7/10/2021: Very good. Tastes like grape juice. Nice and sweet without being sour. Named after the winery's dog! — 5 years ago
Wow. I needed something profound and I got it. Yes this is 10-15 years too young but wow. Nose is just stunning. Deep berry fruit that is so clear and vivid along with huge florals and a rocky component under. Terrific spice and some game. Palate so elegant with massive power and concentration but all wrapped in finesse. Really not a hard edge in sight. Wow. Spectacular. Showing a hint of wood right now but really well integrated. Finish is a mile long. Sappy and stunningly fresh and linear. — 6 years ago
Ruby red, dense core of moderately extracted pigment. Aromas of mint, cherry, barrel wood, maybe smoke. Cherry and cranberry flavors, smooth mouthfeel, not much skin or seed tannin expression on initial pour, but they emerge in earnest after 5-10 minutes. It becomes tart after an hour, but in a flavorful, red fruit way. Tannins settle down after two hours: smooth, rounded, red fruit nectar with a touch of allspice, light but balanced. Not your usual style of Cabernet, but for the curious... worth a try if you decant it first. — 6 years ago
Utterly fantastic. Got turned on to this from a guy at a scotch place on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Wasn’t at all familiar with “single cask” bottlings...but clearly with the right person making the selection, the result can be off the charts. Easily among the top 10 scotches I’ve ever had, this is brilliant. Great nose that provides layers of sweet malt, some molasses, and a hint of peat, this has a beautiful mouthfeel with an expansive palate that just blossoms with hints of sherry, vanilla, and spice, ending with a seamless, lingering finish. Awesome. — 7 years ago

Velvety, subtle and floral scent, easy to drink. Would definitely buy again! — 8 years ago
7/10/2021: Also not my favorite from this winery but still good. Blueberry and blackberry. — 5 years ago
One of my favorite breweries in the south. I know, I know, Sweetwater in Atlanta’s great and all, but Crooked Can outta Orlando is something else.
Their seasonal Oktoberfest pictured on the right hits all the right Autumn notes.
Purple Cow to the left of that has got nice açaí, blueberry, and licorice notes.
Down the line, the Pia Kawa is a perfect tart pineapple sipper.
Finally, the Mellow Step, probably the favorite of the flight, has got the perfect amount of hops balanced with a saltwater taffy mango afternote.

Bergamot, cranberries, lavender, subtle earl grey tea.
Wow. Perfect balance. Hits all of my favorite taste profile notes.
Uppercut punch to the jawline with the welcome acidity, tart blueberry jam pie, and even some spice notes that I can’t really pinpoint.
I just know this would pair exceptionally well with some bake lamb. When a wine makes you crave a specific food, they did something right. And also I just went for an 8 mile run and I’m hungry.
This wine just makes me happy. And it’s kind of hard to explain why. And that only happens about 1/10 bottles. — 6 years ago
Considering how stunning Frauenberg was in 2018 I was even excited to taste this and it did not let down. Stunning nose. Vinous Crabtree and Evelyn. Floral, herbal, lavender, gorgeous. Honeysuckle. Lean and limey as well. Hint of vulcanized rubber I love so much. Apricot, peach skin. So insanely complex. A GG like nose. Complex and concentrated with terrific fruit skin purity and almost a like fruit leather. So mineral and precise and just teeming with energy and a playful, focused yet intense juiciness. The finish is a mile long and gives off citrus and minerals. Amazing texture and so well made. Balanced and super pure with the structure to age for 10+ years. As this airs it picks up a white chocolate, caramel hit in the mid palate which is to die for. — 6 years ago
The 2016 Rivers-Marie Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard lasted 10 days before I finally gave in. My weakness was rooted more in curiosity than hedonism. Albeit much of that curiosity had to do with how hedonistic it was. After 30 minutes I was concerned that I might have killed a baby. After 45 mins it turned on a dime, and after another 30 minutes it came into focus and you realize all’s right with the world. There’s a seamless swath of minerality and savoriness that spans from wet gravel to dark chocolate cocoa powder while also revealing a bridge of cedar, cassis, underbrush, grilled meat, and espresso. Once again, this makes an excellent argument for being my favorite wine in the valley. — 8 years ago

Bought a couple of these too, plus some of the new Herb Lamb, have you tried that yet?

7/10/2021: Really good. Said it was peach, pear and orange but it tastes like raspberry to me! — 5 years ago
Unique wine from pre-phylloxera vines grown in the sand less than a mile from the Atlantic. Nose is grape juice concentrate and beef jerky, teriyaki, some smoke, berries and a clay/mineral earthiness. A remarkable freshness too. Bright red fruit on the palate. Ripe, without compromised acidity. Silky texture and fine tannins. Reminds me of Cote Rotie but with a boost in acid and saltiness. Drinking beautifully now though another 10-15 years in the bottle probably wouldn’t hurt! — 6 years ago

This wine has rounded out since being released in 2008. The grapes were chosen from the Seven Hills, Loess, Mill Creek, Upland. Pepper Bridge, as well as Bacchus-Dionysus and Wallula, both located in the Columbia Valley. It is a blend of 76% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Carmenere and 4% Petit Verdot, having the highest percentage of Carmenere that I have seen for this wine. This vintage was characterized by an early bud break and a hot summer which led to ripe fruit. The wine opens with aromas of milk chocolate, Turkish coffee, sagebrush and black cherry. This leads to rich flavors of black cherry, anise, sage, blackberry and mocha. There is a silky mouthfeel and wonderful viscosity, despite the wine being nearly 10 years old. This is drinking beautifully, one of the best of its kind. 2,723 cases of this delicious wine made. Drink 2019-2035- 96 — 7 years ago
Pulling out some of the good stuff to celebrate Bernardo’s new job. Still big and juicy. I would lay this down for 10 more years. — 8 years ago
