Great start to the weekend with this happy little CdP. She's got a soft ruby color with transparent, wide edges. She's got legs for days. The nose presents red fruit and cocoa. On the palette I find raspberry, rosehip, leather, and garrigue. A smooth finish with light tannins. She's a keeper!

So thin, it's barely there. Tannins are all gone. This 11 year old is predominantly sour cherry and cranberry, with a bit of apple peel and gravel. But it's super soft. I'm glad I opened this, I think she's hitting her prime.

Heavy stuff.
Having the last glass on day 3. It's mellowed out quite a bit. Juicy mouthfeel, I taste and smell candy and nuts; my brain says Boston baked bean candy. It finishes with brooding, dark cherry and blueberry, with a little nutmeg. The tannins have chilled, but still leathery. I enjoyed it!

Arrived in Florida this afternoon and had to grab something from Publix to go with our grilled dinner. We've all had Decoy. We all do what we have to do. After dinner I'm moving on to cold Red Stripe beer. It's hot down here!

Cooler temps make it a Syrah kind of day. Join me? This one is just hitting right today. Exactly what you want from Côte Rôtie, this wine has great meat, great fruit, great finish.. it's still young but doing just fine!

I stole this picture from the web. Date night last night at a place with a ho-hum wine list. This inexpensive Malbec was decent, though. Very standard Argentinian Malbec. Dark fruit, blueberry, plum, leathery. Enjoyed it with a lamb burger.

This sweetheart needed a good hour to open up to me. Very nice fruit (strawberries and blackberries), spices, licorice, and tobacco leaf. Firm tannins- very good with a simple meal of grilled pork chops, asparagus, and little potatoes.
