This beautiful 2005 cab was an anniversary gift from a great friend of mine @Jeff Savigny The vintage is the year we got married. The nose is so complex and yet so subdued, it practically blew my mind. A nose full of roses, tobacco, dark fruit and licorice with a hint of molasses and vanilla. On the palate very dry, with a faint aged acidity, yet very rich and delicious. You can spend just as much time smelling this as drinking it. This was a near perfect wine and a great anniversary present! — 12 years ago

A softened ruby color. Beautiful balance, everything in harmony. Wet earth, raspberry, cinnamon, a whiff of truffle, intoxicating nose. So much ripe, fresh red fruit on the palate. This Nebbiolo has a very light smokey aroma, with bright red current, cherry jolly rancher candy, porcini mushroom and black licorice.
Firm tannins and really nice acidity.

Could use another 5 year in the bottle.

NYC for my 35th and this was firing on all cylinders. Extremely dark in color, massive nose and the palate showed everything good about classic Latour. This liked and tasted like an 80's wine, so youthful and surprisingly no sediment in the bottle. Easily a top 5 wine this year. — 12 years ago
