This was pretty darn good: exhibiting no sign of age it was shy on nose for first hour then released some violets & red dusty fruit with tar & spice highlights. Only medium bodied with tannins & acid playing nicely on the palate. Solid finish but this was not a WOW Barolo, but it’s still a Barolo don’t ya know?! — 7 years ago
This run of about 13 PHENOMENAL wines I'm posting are from the SQN wine dinner/WNH interview I did at @Shawn R 's house last night. I was like a kid in a candy store on Christmas. What an absolutely EPIC night! Love ya brother!
Ok, so, wow, you know the night is going to be insane when this is the welcome sparkler! Rosé champagnes are becoming a favorite of my wife and I and Shawn seems to be the man when it comes to them. I've never had Krug Rosé, but I can't imagine it being better than this. The fresh strawberries, kiwis and knock your socks off acidity on this made me a believer in this stuff. — 8 years ago

Such an awesome wine! Loved it. — 9 years ago
Tart pomegranate seed, tart red cherry, cranberry, black tea, herbs de Provence, lively and juicy (carbonic), a kiss of young leather. Tons of varietal purity. Great acidity and smooth tannins—drinking perfectly now but this can definitely last. — 6 years ago
With Roger, Bridgette and Billy. I love this!! — 7 years ago

And if ya don’t know, now ya know. Sell your garage for a bottle — 8 years ago
Nariz: ciruela e higo ambos maduros, regaliz, tomillo, cuero. Ya mostrando evolucion la nariz.
Boca: Seco, Tanino M, Acidez M, Alcohol Alto. Largo en boca.
Vino con muy buen bouquet, complejo y con buen balance a pesar del alto nivel de alcohol. Excelente.

Deep gold, with slight browning (That's age for ya'!). White mousse with persistent medium bubbles. Nose of dried apples, ginger, and bread. On the palate, quince, white pepper, brioche crust. Acidity still bright; enhanced by the bubbles of course. Still solid after all these years! I'm having cheese omelette and Brussels sprouts. — 9 years ago

If I had one sentence to describe this wine, it is this: "Ca' Togni is the definition of desire." The vintage was a 2006, and let me tell ya, have the years been great to this mistress! Showing a deep brick red color, and a wine still showing all its wonderful fruits, with an expected maturity thrusting forth delightful complexity, this wine will make you love Black Hamburg! (Black Muscat) On the nose, notes of dried figs, dried rose petals, old leather, strawberry-rubarb jam, followed by a pallet of racy dark maraschino cherries, brown spices, and a vanilla finish. Phillip Togni is a hell of a wine maker out of Spring Mountain! I highly recommend trying one of these, even if it is $50, it was most certainly worth it! On top of that, it is 1 of only three wines he crafts, still in his 80's, still the king of the mountain. — 10 years ago
One of the older Aubert pinots we have in our cellar, this UV Vineyard started off pretty slow - pretty thin with not a lot of aromatics - but with time in thr glass it really expanded. Dried strawberry and rhubarb on the nose, the wine has excellent balance with flavors of dried fruits and earthy undertones that persist through a lingering finish. Not sure about the future of this one. My guess is that the wine is just past peak, so drink ‘em if ya got ‘em! — 7 years ago

— 8 years ago
Nicest cab i have had! Screams California and beef. Breathes very well if ya can hold out. — 9 years ago
Juan Pablo Perez
Nariz: frambuesa, cereza, algo de flores, bosque, setas
Boca: Tanino M/M+ , Acidez M, Alcohol M.
De cuerpo liviano, pero los taninos engañan un poco ya que estan aun por resolverse por completo. Puede estar mas tiempo en botella.
