Excellent example of a young Barolo drinking well in its youth. 2011 was a vintage to approach early, but will be even better in another 4-5 years. Great aromatics after 10-15 minutes of air and kept getting better. Solid dark fruits on the palate. Very clean and precise, as one expects from Brovia. — 9 years ago
Wonderful, approachable wine, even in its youth. — 10 years ago
This is still a pretty young wine at ten years in. We opened this and decanters for a few hours and it still displays a lot of youth. The big fruit flavored come out with a little swirling. Enjoy, but be patient if you can. — 10 years ago
Cherries right out of the bottle. Beautiful thick and dark. Fresh fruit gives way a bit over time. Black currant. Oak barrels smell begins to come though. Pretty good legs. Def showing its youth.
Light and airy. High tannins. Light Astringent though, and more dry than bitter. — 10 years ago
2001 Case Base di Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello Sangiovese. Drank at DR concert. Enormous wine, but so pleasant to drink. Tart, dark cherry notes followed by spice, leather, and soil. So delicious and smooth despite its youth. We love this wine and really enjoyed this. — 10 years ago
A serious 🍇🍒💣. Delicious in its youth with lush red fruits. — 11 years ago
1992; Dark red; nose of intense blueberry w/ menthol and cedar; ripe cassis and BlackBerry fruit attack w/ bit of sweet tobacco and white pepper, perfect structure and balance, bright and lush at the same time; much better than its tight youth. — 11 years ago
Good grief! Even in its youth this was remarkably balanced with woodsy fruit for forest and a resinous fragrance. Camphorous Barolo with plenty of flex and play. — 11 years ago
2000 Lafite was shockingly showing more mature than I expected, lots of tertiary notes. Many wines like this can hit a plateau where it can sit for over a decade or more in this same state of enjoyment, then get even better. The 2005 outclassed the 2000 in pure enjoyment as the youth of its character allied with a supremely fragrant nose captured my senses' full attention.

2009 vintage, Le Clos from Coravin. Medium ruby hue. On the nose, medium plus intensity of blackberry, sloe, pencil shavings, smoke and savoury spices. Some pyrazines and leafiness. There's some pleasant development - mainly leather and earth. Nice complexity despite its youth. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium body, medium tannin - chewy. Medium alcohol and long savoury, black fruity finish. Delicious. There's a real tang on the mid palate and with air there's more smoke and savoury tones than at first blush. Classic Clos Rougeard. Drink now until 2026+. 93/100 — 10 years ago
A classic Hermitage which was luscious and inviting in it's youth, only to close shop completely for a good number of years, like a stubborn goth teenager. But at the ripe age of 17, it is once again deep, open and warm like a night in Marrakech. Well worthy of celebrating my father's 84th birthday. — 11 years ago
Very good in its youth. — 11 years ago
Textbook, classic Vouvray from one of the most classic, storied estates in the appellation. Walks a perfect tightrope between rich, waxy density and nimble freshness. This is what I'd use to show someone new to the Loire what high-quality, classic dry Loire Chenin is supposed to taste like. These 2014 Huet secs are really banging on all cylinders. Pours a medium (-)/medium intensity yellow gold hue. Highly concentrated nose of ripe, slightly oxidized green apple and apricot, smoky, crushed flint minerality, fresh lychee, waxy honeycomb, wet wool, and some savory aged cheese rind leesiness. On the palate, (slightly less) ripe, waxy stone fruit, slightly oxidized Anjou pear juice, raw honey, wet stone, savory leesiness, and lychee. High acid, medium (-)/medium body with lovely lush leesy texture. Alcohol is medium/medium (+) but totally in balance and not hot at all on the palate. Dry but not what something I'd describe as "bone dry" though. Has a long life ahead of it if you want to cellar it, but still so tasty and generous enough in its youth as well. Really satisfying , electric stuff. 🍏🍐🍑🍯⚡️ — 9 years ago

Very mineral expression under all the fruit. Crushed earth, crushed plums, cassis, pencil lead, super elegant tannin given its youth. Love how the oak is there for support not to showboat. — 10 years ago
KWN Wine 5. This one was confusing, and shocking upon reveal. Quite a special treat!!! Plummy, but felt the fruit was fading. The tannins were super strong, suggesting youth. Earthy finish. Thinking this is just in transition and still has miles to go. Be interested to see what it's like in 5 more years. — 10 years ago
Silky, earthy, simply glorious even in its youth. — 11 years ago
Dark red, nose of cassis, BlackBerry & raspberry jam, hint of eucalyptus; black fruits, plums and cassis on palate, hint of licorice/iodine in the finish, les fruity now than in youth, drink up. — 11 years ago
Drinking so well despite its youth. — 11 years ago
Amazing youth. This still needs years but the hype is real. — 11 years ago

The youth on this wine was incredible. I simply cannot imagine drinking this one too much earlier than what we did. The nose was so complex....floral, ripe black fruit, hint of nitrogen. Entry was dark, full bodied ripe black fruit and fig. The middle turned darker. Finished with dominance. Lots of black pepper. Tannins were soft and had resolved for the most part. This one was ready to kick ass and take names. — 8 years ago
