It’s Peay. May not be all Estate fruit but still it’s Peay. Vanessa makes great juice. #peayvineyards — 5 years ago
Excellent very smooth finish. Almost like a cabernet — 6 years ago
This wine is insane. Nose is an absolute assault of clove, cardamom, incense, menthol, and, most prominently, a freshly unwrapped piece of grape Bubble Yum (which I suppose no longer exists). Palate is completely disjointed, with intense dark fruit, loam, asphalt, and licorice. Great restaurant. Vanessa has lost her mind over it. I was actually quite lucky to get any wine at all, as McCusker insisted that everyone working in the restaurant down to the dishwasher should try some. — 6 years ago

First of all, the pic is courtesey of my wife Vanessa (and it’s an awesome pic if I do say so myself). Lauren is always my favorite of Mark’s chardonnays, and this one does not disappoint. Telltale notes of honeysuckle, lemon peel, apricot (or some other stone fruit), but surprisingly no trace of vanilla (which I was expecting given how Mark ages his whites). The wine has a beautiful mouthfeel, is balanced, and a flavor profile reminiscent of the nose. The complexity that characterizes the Lauren chards after a few more years in the cellar is not there yet, suggesting that this has many years of development ahead of it. Could turn out to be one of Mark’s best chards in recent memory, so if you have a few of these I’d open one now and put the rest aside and see how they develop. — 4 years ago

Well, I fired up a couple of fullblood waygu fillets for tonight (and Vanessa made a KILLER polenta), so the competition was tough. This is a terrific cab nevertheless. Classic nose of black fruits, violet, cedar, and black currants with a hint of leather. Not as tannic as I was expecting, but still had enough backbone to keep it interesting. If you have this, I’d suggest waiting a couple of years, as I suspect it will be more interesting once it starts acquiring more secondary flavors. Still a terrific cab! — 6 years ago
Body, structure with 10 years at least potential per Vanessa (Winemaker). This will be something (it is already something actually). Love bouquet and tannin balance. Aging will likely develop amazing complexity. — 7 years ago
Vanessa brought this to Amie and Aron's. Loved it!! — 7 years ago
