Caramel and butterscotch upon opening. Residual sugar makes this slightly flabby. Lacking freshness, Riesling typicity and vineyard characteristics at the moment.
After a few hours the wine is finding its balance. Even more so on the next day, it's becoming less heavyhanded. Peach, apricot, some citrus appear. So, much better on day 2... Strange huh? — 11 years ago
