Bought for Robin & Elisabeth's trip. Had a terrible time opening both bottles as the seal was so thick. Wine was nice and would drink again if the packaging was different. Served with leg of lamb. — 9 years ago
If you have tried chocolate wine in the past and been turned off you have not tried this one. Very thick like a port but with the faint taste of chocolate. Lovely as the final wine after a great meal. — 10 years ago
Wonderful with my bone in steak - thick as oil. — 11 years ago
Very good for a Cab. Smooth, needs to open up before serving. Drank w wine club. Quick buzz. Slight after bite. This is a from big winemakers that got together to make a less expensive wine. Described as cassis, toasty oak, sweet fruit, and a show stopper. $20 ish — 12 years ago
Thick and rich! Dark maroon with a brown rim. Oak and leather push through the dark stone fruit aromas. All that aging has taken the edge off the tannins. Mellow for sure. Leathery and full on the palate. Used as a conversation wine at a gathering. Paired well with fruits from the tray, cheese log and Doritos. Honestly, for $18.99 cdn you can't go wrong with this. Lots of gold on the label and wire mesh give an elegance that makes the host think that it punches above it's price class. — 9 years ago
Deceivingly complex. Definitely better as it warms up. Lemon juice, pear and apple on a thick bed of salinity and stony minerality. Serious length and depth. More complexity and raw power than the Cuvée Diane (the NV Blanc de Blanc) but not quite as polished and composed. — 9 years ago
An amazing effort, even as a young wine, this Shiraz is fruit forward with blackberry and dark currant tones. Shiraz was once my favorite varietal until the Aussie style changed in the late 1990s to a more thick and sweet style. This more restrained wine may bring me back into the Shiraz fold! — 10 years ago
Great complexity for under $20. Thick fruit almost like a Chardonnay but strong apple smell. Changes as its opened longer. Hints of grappa towards the end. — 10 years ago
Go out and buy a case of this, right now. It has no right to be this good. Total surprise. Thick and dark and rich - better than most cabs three or four times as expensive. — 10 years ago
A blend of 67 CS 28% Syrah 5 PV this is made by Gilles nicault who is the winemaker who works will all the celebrity winemakers the fruit is from candy mountain and red mountain this wine has a good punt of dark cherry fruit blackberry fruit with dark chocolate and a good amount of earth loamy notes nice complexity on the nose. A thick and chewy wine on the tongue with ripe round tannins very balanced a bigger wine than the feather but just as nuanced. Finish 45+. Excellent+ — 11 years ago
100%silvagnier, skin press touch of Gewürztraminer grape skin, this is very refreshing wine recommend for summer time. Mineral and sour:)) — 12 years ago
Very good. Not as good as the malbec you get at Casa de Milano, but what do you expect? Strong out of the bottle, thick, tannic, dense, long legs. Good initially, but better after an hour of air. Well structured. Will last another five years at least. — 9 years ago
Color: Golden Yellow
Nose/Smell: Not sure how long this was open for but at least a few hours. Lots of perfume and flowers such as acacia, lavender, elderberry and honeysuckle. Additional contained sweet honey.
Palate/Taste: A little bit of heat at the end of the palate. No where close to as much as the 2009 last month. Thick body and syrupy like honey consistency. Long finish that lingers and sweetness stays steady.
Opinion: Noted a few interesting things. If you are a big fan of Vin de Constance, Napoleon's wine, you might have noticed that the was no 2010 vintage. While the 2011 is still over 85% from 2011 it is blended with the very small yield from 2010. Each grape is hand picked for this wine and is not pressed. This is made entirely of free run juice. Additionally this was agreed on 60% new french oak. This can easily be cellared until 2035+. Great structure and power. — 10 years ago
Fabulous taste. Smooth and silky yet not such thick taste as pure Pedro, thanks to Palomino. — 10 years ago
Dry, light, very focused. Nearly dusty with very bright but not hot fruit. Nice! — 10 years ago
Heady aromas of scorched earth, smoke and charred red meat, chocolate, black currants, pepper, violets, coffee, and brimstone. Continues on the palate, with a viscous mouthfeel akin to witches' milk and rich dark flavors wound tightly around a green stem of licorice and burnt soil. A volcanic masterpiece of apocalyptic proportions! Truly he'll on earth in a glass. Thick as blood. This one stomps a mudhole in your ass, come from straight out the swamp. Only this swamp was napalmed in the best of ways. Flowers on a fresh, hot grave! — 11 years ago

A BIG and BOLD wine!!
In its own right a beautiful Red Wine (92+ pts) but as a representation of Pinot Noir I was disappointed.
This is thick, full throttle and tasted more like a Syrah-based Meritage to me.... — 9 years ago
