Dark purple; a tight nose leads to woodsy, cedar box and slight smoke. Full tannins give way to dark brambly fruits like blackberries and currants. It lingers as a fine wine should. A gem from Kenwood. 2005 a fine vintage. — 25 days ago

Golden amber color. Briny, diluted iodine, smoky, red fruit, floral and herbal notes on the nose. Warm mouthfeel. Hints of sherry and stewed fruits on the palate. — 4 years ago

This is a great tipple as the weather cools down in the Southern Hemisphere. From Islay with plenty of peat and smokiness. A maritime seaweed note. Some say Laphroaig is even more peaty but for me, the jury is still out on that one. — 3 days ago
