Teran Venezia Giulia Terrano 2019

Interesting indigenous grape. You might think Cab Franc, Syrah, especially from the nose, but for all it’s bruising, it’s light,
11.5° rarely exceeding 12°. Bright dark cherries, minimal tannins, just enough for pasta with meat. With a slight chill, a really nice summer quaff.

Che Non Che

Dry, bare, straight-forward... bold and with an additude. Teran’s acidity hits on front, but then all it’s flavours take over, with just a twist of bitterness. Lots of small bubbles. Cleans your palates and makes you want more. There’s nothing better to start the meal (the day, the evening, whatever...) than with bubbles like this? Just love it. — 8 years ago

Teran 2017

Much more enjoyable than the 2016. Deep ruby color. Black pepper, tar and late-season lilac on the nose. Medium-body but layered flavor with granite, vanilla, crushed red pepper and old boot leather...kind of a salty finish. I don’t remember how much I paid for this, but whatever it was, I would have paid more. Fantastic! — 7 years ago

Teran Re 2009

Oxidative and evolved with balsamic notes, a bit of leather, preserved cherry. Surprisingly fresh on the nose.
Electric, piercing acidity hits on the palate, with evolved fruit following. Tannins still fresh. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Terra Mare Istria Teran 2015

First Croatian wine. Saw this and even at $37 had to try. Well worse the money. Young and needs a decant or a nice grilled steak.
Pnp. Very aromatic right off the bat. Black cherry, Forest floor, mushrooms, and a touch of green pepper. Highly recommend giving this a chance especially if you are a fan of other old world wines.
