Cesca Vicent is a proprety located in the heart of Priorat, in the town of Gratallops. Owned and run by Francesca Vicent (better known as Cesca), a 5th generation producer, her family has farmed grapes since the 16th century. A blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Carginan, 5% Syrah. Dark inky color with fruit, herb and spice aromas. Blackberry and Cherry flavors with leather, cacao, smoke and spice notes. Full body, soft lingering finish. Nice value. — 8 years ago

A well off friend did bring this one to our Friday tasting at the wine store ---- and yesterday I first liked it and then was unimpressed??? Just a bunch of acid and little fruit behind it so my bet was this will not make it. Michele I think she is a sommelier agreed. So this morning I am sitting here in the sun and give it a second shot after air for 15 hours (that should do it 😁). AND? I was wrong! Red currant nose very Burgundian 12.8%. In a blind tasting I would think this is a Gevrey Chambertin. Tealeaves, forest floor, dirt, cloves, all spice, dark berries and just a super tiny hint at California fruit very impressive! So the problem is how long do you need to give this air 30 min or 15 hours oh boy 👍🍷🍷🍷. — 9 years ago

From the time we tasted the amarone with Francesca at her winery, this has been an absolute favorite. Intensely aromatic violet and deep woodsy red fruit. Gorgeous silky texture envelopes the first tantalizingly bright on the tongue at first giving way to full body complex mix of silky spice-wrapped tone-in-tone darker fruit. — 8 years ago

This is a fun freakin wine. Uva Rara typically used as a blending grape with Nebbiolo. Reminiscent of a Nebbiolo, but without the bite. Delicate red floral nose, hint of spice, easy drinker with a touch of tannin on the back end. Really cool stuff. — 8 years ago
