Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A little thin for the price point, structured and decent fruit. Solidly decent.

The fruit was fighting with the acidity and the ample tannins were trying to get in the game. The acidity won. Still, a decent wine that a little age will likely put right.

Bottle tasted tired. Maybe too soon to drink? Or bad bottle? Too bad.

Let’s just have the wine for dessert

Cherry, dark fruits, well balanced, slightly acidic. Probably needs to age a bit more. Good but not for the price.

This bottle was a pleasant uptick from the last I had. Perhaps it was the vintage. Very soft, juicy fruit. Very balanced.

Mouthwatering bouquet of blueberry crème brûlée. With just one sip it announces itself as large and in charge. Warm vanilla, plum, cherry, caramel, and a satisfying chewiness. What will five more years do? I dare you to wait. Normally I wouldn’t mention this, but I burped some up and it was — honest to god — fabulous.
