The acidity and structure of this wine make is v special. Also has a looooong finish. So good with food. Honeysuckle and orange blossom on the (lusty) nose. Bergamot for sure. A little cider character. Meyer lemon the palette. Wet stone minerality. Love this wine. — 6 years ago

Third of the reds in our South African blind tasting. Limited production by Noble Hill in South Africa. Made up of 100% Mourvedre and aged in French oak for 36 months. Only 372 bottles produced.

Luckily this showed a lot better than last time, prior bottle was corked. That was at your place @David L . Dark garnet red. Lovely and dark nose with dark cocoa, meatiness, a touch woody and toasty. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus bodied. Rounded with dark berries on the palate, purple flowers, spices, chalk, dark cocoa and almost a little coconut. A touch sweet but not overpowering. Long and lingering finish. Excellent bottling by Noble Hill. Drink till 2024. — 9 years ago

Wow, a stunner of a Chardonnay. Jura ouille it is! A distinctive powerful nose of oily acidic Chard that smacks me out of pre dinner stupor and then roared across the palate into a complex biting finish. What a Chard. Only three bottles from GL for this vintage, also ‘09 ‘15, not sure how many left. — 5 years ago

Electric orange, extraordinary colour. Pale saline nose. Palate is a shapeshifter, strawberry, rose petals, very floral. Finish is fabulously rustic—astringent and tannic, as if to jolt you out of a stupor. Worth seeking out. — 6 years ago
