I thought I would do something fun this Halloween season and post some “creepy” wines and pair them with some fun cheese. This is a nice blend from Paso Robles, medium body, dark garnet in color. Very tannic with notes of rhubarb and raspberry. I wish I could eat this cheese by the mouthful. It’s a Wensleydale cheese from the UK with strawberry and Prosecco. So sweet, it really offsets the tannins in the wine. 💀🍷🧀 — 5 years ago
Very nice pinot... the tasting room in Santa Barbara is great too — 6 years ago
Bought this bottle 5 years ago. I really liked this wine back then but my tastes have changed a lot. I was happy that this turned out to be much more enjoyable than I thought it would. Quite nice. — 7 years ago
Light body. Fruity sweet and sour strawberry aroma. Tastes sweet with a pleasant sourness. Astringent smell and taste dissipates as it decants. Hint of licorice at the end back end. — 7 years ago

2005 vintage is delicious. Ages gracefully with blackberry and licorice typical of good Cali Syrah but fruit softened with time — 9 years ago
Perfect day drinking wine when you are riding on a train. — 3 years ago

My fault for letting that humidity get to the red paper that wrapped the bottle. Damage only limited to the label, thankfully. Concentrated red and blue fruit. Focused on the palate with a long finish. Tannins are really integrated and this bottle is 100% pleasure! — 5 years ago
2013 a bit oaky still nice to drink — 7 years ago

I was up at my wine locker today and there was a gentleman setting up for a private event. I introduced myself and he was the winemaker for Paradise Ridge. Dan was very kind and opened up this Sauv Blanc for me to try as he told me how their winery was completely burned to the ground by the fires in the fall. They lost their entire ‘17 vintage. Since their home burned down, Dan is taking his “home” to people around the country. Just another reminder that even though the fires are gone, the wineries still are hurting and need your support.
This is all estate fruit. Very pale and balanced SB. Tropical stone fruits, and minimal oak presence...almost non-existent. Yet it still has the backbone that shows it could age. Easy drinking. Screw cap. — 7 years ago
Katie thought it was a 9.1 Cody thought it was an 8.7. Very lite easy to drink, very fruity — 4 years ago

Located just east of St. Helena in Napa where Conn Creek flows out of Howell Mountain. Their 26 acres of vineyards are in the heart of this 40-acre grape-growing paradise. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot. A big wine with complex fruit and spice aromas. Juicy black berry fruits, with underlying smooth sweetness combined with smoke, spice and oak. Well structured, tannins still tight, gave in after 90 minutes, ending with earthy pepper character. Enjoyable now but let it sit in cellar. — 7 years ago
Thanksgiving 2017 at Cozy Corner Cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio. 🦃
Brought out the heavyweights for this weekend and Paradise is an undisputed champion. 💪
Picked up last year on our Willamette Valley tour and so glad we stopped to see Dan @ Utopia.
None of his wines have disappointed. 🍷

Awesome red blend from three wine counties... Napa, Lake, and Sonoma county. I love the way it wakes up the taste buds and then finishes very smoothly leaving you wanting more. — 8 years ago

Uhhh, quite the mind-blowing bottle. The finesse of this build is pure class. The oak is prominent but is a Prince Charming to Cinderella’s sweet perfect vintage fruit set. Tropical and touch floral with an amazing Meyer lemon & crème brûlée finish (that is silky/long). Top shelf build :) — 3 years ago
