A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
This wine is made by Michel Rolland. Large and in charge merlot. Mocha, sweet pipe tobacco, and a lot of ripe blackberry. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Cab lovers merlot. — 8 years ago

Welcome to Friday and I have picked up a Right Bank Bordeaux Blend from the state Washington the 2013 DeLille Cellar D2. 57% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
Upon opening, there is beautifully expressive dark fruit wafting over the rim of the glass with a lasting impression of blackberries, black currant, black cherry, plum, sweet ripe strawberry, cassis, cherry licorice, and sweet tobacco.
With the first taste on the palate there is lovely blackberry, black cherry, kirsch, strawberry, black currant, green bell pepper, and bit of leather, and a smokey note.
This wine is well balanced with medium + acidity and a smooth mouth feel with fine sandy tannins.
For a second lable wine this is a hell of a deal. For a young wine this is drinking well right now. I would recommend this wine all day long.
Have a great weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 10 years ago
A lot to love about this #wine. Love their range across the board. The wine didn't change dramatically after opening. Pepper seemed to go from crack black to white table over time.
Pours dark shades of red. Nothing blue about it. Moderately dry. Can really pull out the Viognier and its role in the wine.
Deep cherry with slight herbal notes and wild brush aromas. Slightly smokey conjoined with Pepper. Palate is streamlined with deep black fruits. Black raspberry/cherry and more brambley notes. Finish has good structure. Coats palate and shows fine tannin. Opened 12/24/15 — 11 years ago
Love this blend and vintage. Fourth bottle of the year. — 11 years ago

One of the best Chardonnays I've had in a long time!!! — 13 years ago
Smells of fruit grown in gravel.
Loud blueberries, cran Pom grape good, clean, smooth, mouthfeel and wonderfully light heft. A whole lot bouncing around in this wine. The acid oak balance is strikingly harmonious.
Lingering blue fruit skin. A good one to watch the latest GOT with.

It's time for #MerlotThursday. Here's a great one from Columbia Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, cherries, cooked plums, wood, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, dark coffee, mocha, earth, leather, coke and black pepper. What a great nose.
Full bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, spices, espresso, chocolates, peppercorn, earth sweet vinaigrette, dark coffee and light mocha.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This 4 year old Merlot from Washington State surprised me.
Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel.
Soft, spicy and smooth. Peaking now, and better now than a year or two ago.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (1 hour).
I paired it with a filet mignon and grilled asparagus.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Agreed with previous CT reviewers, this wine has lost most of its tannin. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. This allows a lot of notes to show on the finish. This wine had a nose of black cherry cordial and tart. The note was more of a black cherry and oatmeal tart on the front. Delicate, yet hedonistic at rhe same time. Herbal finish. Still with a delicate fruit structure. Neat wine. The finish really did beg you to take another sip, which IMO is mission accomplished. Compared to a Favia and a 1999 Heitz Martha's, this red had stiff competition but fared well. Probably was better 1 or 2 hours after I left, so @Shay Aldriedge 's note is probably going to be a truer representation of how it showed when it was fully open. — 9 years ago

Woodward Canyon has gained a national reputation for producing high quality Chardonnay. This great new release, the 2017 Woodward Canyon ‘Washington State’ Chardonnay, is sourced from a host of great vineyards across the state. The wine was aged in a small percentage of new French oak prior to bottling. Ironically the wine was bottled on my birthday in May, 2018. The nose takes on a ton of appeal with roasted pineapple, toasty oak, Pink Lady apple and brioche aromatics. The palate shows a wonderful tension, astringency and richness. Gravenstein apple, brioche, and Meyer lemon creme brûlée flavors all strut their stuff in the glass. This is a gorgeous wine that has some good cellaring potential. Drink 2019-2029-

Minerals initially segueing into light fruit. Fun. — 8 years ago

My go to rose... great mix of RHONE varietals that show lovely fruit . Top level domestic rise. — 9 years ago
I have (almost) never rated s wine a perfect 10... But this one, THIS one, is perfect! The pepper and gaminess of the Mourvedre is powerful and lingers on and on. The Cinsault and Grenache add a touch of bright red fruit and sweet berry notes. It could easily have gone a few more years. Mind, blown... — 10 years ago
Washington State produces quality wines and Red Diamond is one of the best. Highly recommended — 10 years ago
Great for an under $10 bottle of wine. — 11 years ago
Not ready. Needed lots of air. Too tight. Rating based on future judgment — 11 years ago

Starting to soften just slightly and drinks well now with a short decant. Bright red fruits from the grenache, some darker and more savory elements from the mourvedre and just a touch of syrah which I can’t pick out on the palate but makes for a nice bouquet. — 7 years ago
