From WineBid for ~ 120$ a freaking bargain for this vineyard! 2006 tends to be a poor vintage yet this rocks. Needs an hour decant and keeps getting more interesting in the glass. Black currant and cedar and then cut bay 🍃 (leaves). I am impressed what Bruno does in a bad vintage. Needs a very big glass drink this over a couple of hours! Good amounts of tannins left chalky dark cherrie but there is an underling spice 'cardamom'. This is VERY classic burgundy. Truly amazing.'My advise drink it now. — 8 years ago
I would love to revisit this after its had another decade to develop, the 2012 Yves Cuilleron L'Amarybelle is classic Saint-Joseph, with complex layers that unfurl at a leisurely pace, revealing notes of blackberries, balsamic, damp tilth, incense, bay leaf, pink peppercorn, and violets. On entry, the initial impression is one of silkiness—a bit deceiving, because there is ample power and persistence on the finish, and a burst of acidity followed by masculine tones of iron ore, garrigue and spice. 12.5% ABV — 9 years ago
Constrained fruit, with a ferny and eucalyptus note. Mid alcohol lifts dark fruit over a dusty chord of mineral and dry soil. Dried purple flowers, bay leaf on non-fruit. Finishes exceptionally clean with grippy, dry tannin that holds the acidity on almost a nebbiolo level, sans red fruit. Still could use half a decade, but shows incredible promise. Quite a showing. — 9 years ago
Great for sipping or in multiple cocktails that call for a coffee liqueur. Very nice. — 9 years ago
Aromatics of animal blood and bay leaf. This wine could put a little hair on your chest. One of my favorites so far in France. — 10 years ago
A fun discovery. We really liked this one. Robust berries, tannins were at Bay as this improved withe some breathing. — 6 years ago
Cubans on the nose with soft notes of spice, hints of pepper and mature stone fruit on the pallet. Long smooth finish with a beautiful rounded mouth feel. A beautiful wine which rivals st emilion drops tenfold the price. 22/9/16. — 7 years ago
Lots of black pepper and cured meats, reminds me of St Joseph, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 — 8 years ago
Elegant nose of dried fruits and herbs, very savory palate; mushroom, venison, bay. Gorgeous. — 9 years ago
I'm not a white wine kind of person but this premium white wine from St. Augustine's San Sebastián Winery is so light and refreshing, perfect on a hot summer evening by the pool — 9 years ago
75% Grenache, 25% Syrah: deep ruby color, light nose with blackberry jam, flint and slate and bay leave aromas. The first attack is ripe rich fruit followed by cassis and balsamic elements. High alcohol. Slightly meaty and chewy texture. Great wine. Overpriced. — 9 years ago
Lovely and accessible, the 1995 Angelus shows off its pedigree and high percentage of Cabernet Franc with only minimal decanting. A slightly woodsy bouquet of black currants, plums, cedar, forest underbrush, spiced orange pomander, dried lavender and incense. On the palate, poised supple tannins and a fine acid backbone underpin steeped blackberry, crème de cassis, bay leaf, dried herbs and delicate minerality. This legendary Saint-Émilion dances in the glass, and ends triumphantly, in a grand jeté. — 9 years ago

Nice, solid red. Soft tannins and unexpectedly sweet at the very end. Won at the kid's auction. — 6 years ago
Smoke. Blackberry. Seared beef. Violets. A visceral floral and fruit combo that is reminiscent of a fruit bat autopsy. Those are the components of the really gorgeous aromas this St. Joe. Blackberry and cultured cream. Sharp, fresh Bay leaf, cinnamon, persimmon, hard, underripe, green plum. Black walnut and pepper finish. Large, grainy, yet surprisingly soft tannins. — 9 years ago
Smooth, sexy and suprisingly fresh for a 40 year old bottle. Light in clarity; almost pinot light. #1975 Barnyard beautiful! Smell reminds me of the rodeo arena seconds before I rip down the alley way on my big fast bay steed! — 9 years ago
2006. On fire. Crunchy, pristine raspberry and wild strawberry fruit melts seamlessly into powerful, heady rose perfume, with just an underside of truffle-y funk. Iodine and fresh blood-irony aromas too. Bay leaf. Just that ethereal mix of power and grace that Burgundy (particularly Fourrier) does so well. Not fully mature, but not backwards either. ICBM-range length. Drink now to 2025+. — 9 years ago
Out of my own collection. Continues to drink incredibly fresh. Still very much primary but is starting to show good minerality and bay leaf components. Will return to this in another 5+ years. Has some major longevity! — 9 years ago

A fantastic, serious wine and a fantastic deal. Really classic Morey st Denise. An enchanting and intoxicating nose with dark fruit, sweet earth, meaty notes, bay leaf and thyme; a hint of leather and game, maybe eucalyptus or amaro and an ethereal undercurrent of natural woods, woodsy without oaky or vanilla notes. Powerful, Round, rich, silky and savory on the palate. Not at all opulent but just in a great window with some resolves tannins despite still having a strong tannic spine. Baking spices followed by Sweet earth and sandalwood dominate a long finish. With air, also get a long dark cherry note, maybe some chocolate covered cherry. Deeper and more exotic savory notes. SIlky, plush and an earthier expression of a chambolle. Serious, and maybe even sexy ;-) — 5 years ago
