I really like this wine. Consistently good every year. Good weight, acidity. Had a slight bitterness on the end. Some people describe Vermentino as having a green almond aspect. I don’t know what green almond tastes like, but with this I get a taste like when you find a raspberry seed in your teeth and you bite it. — 5 years ago
Delicious and different. Oxidative, rich. Not a beginner wine. — 6 years ago
Great red for oily Chinese food. — 8 years ago
Moderate ruby red core with amber rim. Sous bois notes dominate the nose with fruit character of raspberry and black cherry. On the palate, it's delicate and light bodied with medium acidity, little tannin, and only 13% alcohol. I have really enjoyed Silvio Jermann's white wines in the past but had not tried any of his reds until this very pleasing Italian expression of Pinot Noir (Pinot Nero). — 8 years ago
Ruby red with just slightly garnet hue. Dried rose petal, red/black cherry, blackberry black tea, licorice on the palate, cinnamon, clove, tobacco, dusty, complex with so many layers, med plus acidity, med plus tannin. — 8 years ago
Solid Barolo. 50 euros in a restaurant. Light and not super bold like most Barolos, but pleasant. — 2 years ago
Still really great acidity, and ripe fruit, the cork disintegrated upon trying to open, but was not dry. Surprisingly very very good. — 3 years ago
2011 vintage. Estate with 46 hectares of vineyards owned by Silvio Denz (also Faugères, Péby-Faugères and Roycheron in Saint-Emilion , and Lafayrie-Peyraguey in Sauternes). Sometimes criticised for the modern style, the truth is in the glass. And this Cap de Faugères from a difficult vintage absolutely delivers for the price (9,90 euro). Deep red colour with only a slight evolution at the rim. The nose is a bit jammy, but the mouth is much better with the ripe fruit balanced by the acidity and well-tamed tannin. It may be not the most subtle wine, but it's a very attractive right bank Bordeaux at its peak and a strong effort for the vintage. — 4 years ago
Showcases varietal Sangiovese very well. For €14 from Silvio himself, this is one of the best QPR’s I’ve ever encountered. — 7 years ago

Tar! Cherries! Acid! Beautiful earth! Typicity! A food wine for sure. Great length with years ahead. Very pretty. Brings back memories of tasting with Silvio, and his second-to-none hospitality 👍 — 6 years ago
What a pleasure- lush, silky, dark cherries bursting from the glass, forest spice, fairly substantial integrated tannins, well balanced with the acidity. And for under $20. #morandosilvio #barbera #monferrato — 7 years ago
Ok. Silvio is better. Tannens are sharp and flattening — 8 years ago
A lovely wine — 8 years ago

First of the backyard Barolo tasting…..Good wine but not Barolo-esque at all, very light, can tell from the color, and matches on the palate. Served with the cheese which I think was the right call — 2 years ago
